In this country that has so lost its way, there is a city sitting on the tip of a peninsula jutting into the Pacific Ocean, forming a huge bay. The City is built on rolling hills and is blessed with ocean breezes and glorious views and is comprised of charming bay-windowed row houses and a gleaming steel-towered business district. This a few days after San Fran Nan was reported throwing a savage meltdown temper tantrum because the government jet she was assigned wasnt big enough. Dummy Hastert should replace that slightly smaller pachyderm as the symbol of that claque of idea-less Chamber-of-Commerce silk-suited con-men. Changing parties wont cause one dollar of cuts in this avalanche of spending. The system is broken. The checks and balances that were so lovingly designed by a group of Founding Fathers, who had servants who were more aware and better educated than the average modern politician, have broken down in the hands of a political class that lacks the rudiments of common sense. And who is chosen as the most powerful leader among the leaders of this corrupt political class? Who can lead a group of thieves so dishonest, so merciless in their greed, such strangers to truth and probity? Nancy, Murtha, Hoyer, Waxman...these are the maggots who feast on the rotting corpse of our constitution. And the country keeps electing these geniuses. Its worked for the last seventy years. The Rep goes to Washington DC and 'brings home the bacon'. Its over. These idiots are leading us to bankruptcy and much sooner than you think. We elected them. Its our fault.

Some people accuse me of being a hot-tempered, crackpot extremist. My wife thinks I'm a complete loony. After all, I dont have any assets to talk about. I drive a fifteen-year-old car and live in an earthquake-ravaged shack with a cracked slab foundation on a badly compacted cut- and-fill lot on a steep hillside which is only held in place by the varmint-infested vegetation which court-imposed water rationing will kill by the time the hot weather kicks in in July. During and after the Writer's Strike last year I spent a long stretch collecting unemployment from a beneficent state and didnt feel any shame in doing it. Then I got a night-shift job in a special FX house where I was consorting with sundry dead-end types. So why am I not a Democrat? Is it just sheer perversity?

And now the moderates have lowered the boom on us poor, discredited throwbacks by bringing up their big guns; to wit, Colin Powell and Megan McCain. They've convinced me that I've been wrong all along. Americans want more taxes and bigger government. Isnt that what Barry and the Gang ran on in last year's election? I remember Obama saying, "I'm going to raise your taxes so I can partially pay for a massive spending spree by Congress! The rest we'll Print!" Compelling stuff, kind of like Lincoln. And now Powell avers that if the Republicans dont jump on the Government Train they'll be left behind at the station. That makes me feel really bad because for the last two years in the pages of this blog I've been accusing those recalcitrant GOPers of already being on the Big Government Express. I guess they werent on board enough.

Now that Janet Napolitano has labeled conservatives as terrorists and extremists, unlike the 'militants' who were so mistreated at Club Gitmo, and Barry was seen cracking up as some dreary comedienne yelled that she hopes Rush Limbaugh's kidneys fail (gosh, I wish I'd thought up that line...its a corker!) maybe its time to jump on that speeding train myself instead of pointing to that signal that says that the bridge is out up the line.

OK, its a furrin' newspaper and we all know what a bunch of alcohol-soaked sociopathic antisocial maniacs those British reporters are. They probably hire them in bars that cater to bender drunks who flunk out of anger-management therapy. Before I became a moderate I would cruise the electronic pages of The Sun or The Evening Standard just to tank up on inflammatory rhetoric and to dream of a couple of these sneering, cynical, reprobates being admitted to an Obama press conference instead of those reverent bootlicking brownnosers from the Obamunist media. But this story is from The Telegraph, which is a newspaper read by staid English conservatives; bankers by day, leather-clad spankers by night and wankers all the time. Folks who have never been fond of verbal excess in the newspapers they read.

The story is a cautionary tale for any banker or twee upper middle classnik. It seems some of Obama's richest supporters are concerned he might be taking his non-ideological moderation too far. They had all been thinking he was just another Bill Clinton, spooning out the class warfare blab for the rubes and forming a line at the side door for 'contributions'. We all (us moderates that is) knew Clinton was lying, it was part of his charm! We could just park our assets in states with no income tax or in offshore tax shelters, hand a bit of baksheesh to the powers that be and everything was copesthetic. All of those tax cheats Obama nominated for high office skated through previous audits, it was only when the honest accountants started checking them out in public that it turns out that all of them had some fishy tax problems. Thats the nice thing a bout moderation, you might choose to be moderately honest, but if you dont Who Cares? Nancy Pelosi just had Barry order Atty General Eric Holder to drop all investigations of moderate (aka Democrat) officeholders. You're one of the boys in this big, huge fraternity of public servants. And I'm going to be there on rush night to sign up for my slice of the moderate pie.

You see, as a moderate I get to hate some of the same half-wits I did when I was a terroristic Right-Wing nut! Only better. How many times have you stood, watching CNBC, thinking how nice it would be if Warren Buffet was stripped of every single penny, no matter who it was that did it? It seems ol' Warren is worried that these arent the same kind of moderates that the Clintons were. Ditto, Bill Gates. I dont care how much philantropic Save The Planet hogwash he spews, Gates having a hundred billion or so to spend however he likes means he hasnt been paying his fair share. Yeah! And Uncle Barak and the gang are going to do more than talk about it, especially as the Fairness Society slides into bankruptcy as a result of eight years of Bush mismanagement.

The first glimmers of fear are starting to enter the brains of the elite and wealthy geniuses who plunked down the cash that rocketed Barry to the White House. Glimmers that say that Barry believes every word he was saying on the campaign trail. They're beginning to listen to Nancy Pelosi and Henry Waxman with new ears. This Hope And Change stuff might be a little dicey if you are the ones holding all the assets when the Megastate goes bankrupt. They've already taxed the crap out of us little dopes. We're skint.

And now Steven Spielburg, its time for you to be skint too. You got hosed by Bernie Made-off and you got hosed by Barak Obama and now this is the part of the movie where the Obamasaurus eats your bank account, your many houses, your fleet of cars, your private jet, and all the other accoutrements of making an obscene profit, leaving you a gentile pauper like Ingmar Bergman with a 102% tax rate. Now thats a film I'll want to see twice! Enjoy the popcorn, fools!

Being a moderate is going to get better, too. As the tidal wave of cash being generated by the Fed and the obscene orgy of government spending reaches a crescendo the upper middle class, the smug granola eaters who rolled on the ground in an ecstasy of Obama-love during the last election, will abandon Whole Foods for Wal-Mart as inflation surges in like a tsunami and turns their dream castles in the retirement sands, the precious 401ks that they have devoted a lifetime of squirrel-like accumulation to gather, into a flat beach, a level beach, a more fair beach! A beach with no Global Warming, a beach with no traffic jams in a world where cars are assigned to government officials on the basis of need, a beach where squatters huddle in the ghostly, lightless ruins of the cheaply-built seaside mansions looking around at the jimcrack, rotting plasterboard and telling tales to their gape-mouthed, ragged, unbelieving children of the glittering world that has passed and gone.

I'll be smiling. I can accept my fate, whatever it is, if I know that the people who turned their backs on our free society and so blithely led us away from sense and sanity will someday know how wrong they were. Their bitter sense of betrayal will make up for all the condescension and smugness as they mapped out the landscape of Hope And Change in their little brains, a million different fantasies of No More Bush! They should have read a few of the books by 'old dead white men' that made the case for the old wealth-generating society but during the Vietnam War those books were expelled from Academia and replaced with the Marxist tomes that were absorbed so well by Barry and the Clintonoids.

So lets nationalize Microsoft, Apple, Berkshire-Hathaway, Soros Holdings, Disney, Dreamworks, B of A and all those huge enterprises run by the super libs who ignored reality and went for Hope And Change. We can turn them over to moderates in the unions or ACORN who will abandon the obscene quest for profits and concentrate on fairness and moderation. Like in Cuba or Venezuela. Maybe Micheal Moore can make a film about a new and more human America and call it 'Celsius Zero' to show that we're all caught like flies in amber by a frozen, rigid economy that doesnt let the rich and energetic steal from the poor and laid back. A moderate utopian paradise!

So, my conservative friends, its time to throw off the chains of free market economics, free speech, equality of all before the law, religion-based non-flexible morality and let the moderation flow into your hearts. Colin will he proud, so will Megan McCain. And if you dont get your minds right remember, we've got your names!

Why is everybody so happy? They're talking in hushed tones of 'The First Hundred Days' of the Obama Era as if they had some palpable accomplishment to brag about. The Administration has snuck a few pieces of legislation through the legislative process and people who are paying attention are alarmed at many of their policies. CNBC, a business channel not normally given to political discourse, is inhabited by folks who are able to read and understand what these things mean and the business-types on that channel are aghast. Hard-core conservatives are predictably upset at what they see as a slide to destruction. Even some liberals are looking over the 'accomplishments' and becoming uneasy.

But if you get your news from the 30-second newsbreaks in the commercial intervals during 'Desperate Housewives' you're feeling pretty darn good about Barak. One glance at the cover of People Magazine will fill you with confidence and pride at America's wise political choice. Approval ratings are at 60%. Barak obliges this vast audience with plenty of images that show that he's as photogenic as Bill Clinton, swinging his golf club with a quiet insouciance with his eyes fixed firmly on the future that is just outside the bounds of the glowing photograph. At last, a Democrat who looks sharp in his tailored suit instead of that furtive little weasel Bush! I guess things can only get better, right? He's rolled up his sleeves and done something about the economic mess left to him by the Bush Administration and he's got a lot of swell new solutions for all our other problems so why shouldnt we support him?

But 'The Hundred Days' concept can refer to two incidents in history; the storm of legislation that began FDR's 12-year tenure in the White House or the return of Napoleon from Elba and his march to Waterloo. Both ended badly. Waterloo has become a synonym for hubristic disaster and FDR's hurricane of legislation did nothing to help the country out of the Great Depression and in fact can be accused not only of prolonging and deepening that depression but also can be looked on as the beginning of the trend that has brought us to the current crisis. One thing that Bonaparte and FDR had in common is a boundless energy that they threw into The Hundred Days. Wrongheaded as they were they moved forward rapidly and with purpose.

Not so the sluggish Obama. With a Speaker Of The House described by her colleagues as 'crazy and meaner than a junkyard dog' and possessing a complete lock on The House and a Senate with 59 Democrat votes, needing only one or two feeble RINO votes to perpetrate any legislative monstrosity Harry Reid needs to push through you would think we would be living in a People's Republic by now. But this legislative mountain has so far given birth to a couple of anemic baby mice. They've voted a trillion dollars in handouts to friends, donors and favored sectors of the electorate (labeled 'stimulus'). They've effectively doubled the federal budget. The banks have been strong-armed into the TARP program. A large sector of the auto industry has been nationalized and turned over to the union bosses who destroyed it in the first place. The defense budget has been slashed. But the 'liberal agenda' , the avalanche of legislation putting every dream of every crackpot left-wing college professor or union boss into law that Nancy Pelosi promised in the magic First Hundred Days is surprisingly missing.

Why? The American People have demanded more subsidies, especially in these critical times. This is a free country so where's all my free stuff? Free medical care--that's a right! Free college education for anybody who can scrawl their name on an admission application--another right! And what about the right to stay in your house when you cant pay the mortgage? The right of your union to charge your boss four or five times the wage rate people in other countries earn for the same work? The right of public employees to earn eighty percent of their gross pay (indexed for inflation, of course) when they retire after twenty years of service? The right of illegal aliens to all the benefits available to so-called 'citizens'. The government needs to fix the weather by replacing all smoking power plants with eco-friendly windmills and solar panels and also to replace all those stinky gasoline-powered cars with battery-powered cars that run just as well and eliminate the need for expensive petroleum. All those greedy bankers and CEOs need to be stripped of their bonuses and private jets so that The Children can have a decent education in our cash-starved schools.

The translation of the title of this piece is 'Whom the Gods would destroy they first make demented'. That might be a good replacement for 'In God We Trust' on our currency. The currency that will be increasingly worthless as each new wave of 'stimulus' is poured into a declining economy. The conservatives are waiting for the American People to catch on to the effects of all these Obamunist economic tricks and turn on their authors. Thats a nice thought, but its going to take a lot for these spoiled, dependent slobs to realize that their rights are unsustainable and unworkable and not rights at all. The dementia has eaten into America's brain. They really think that the government can fix the weather. They really think that they can retire at fifty with free medical care, a phat pension, mortgage relief, and an electric-powered Winnebago that will take them on a permanent tour of a well-maintained highway system in a country free from the fear of a terrorist attack or crime by illegal alien criminals surrounded by a world of democratic nations impressed by the sheer morality of America's admirable foreign policy. Thats how demented we have become.

The state of the political culture in this age of Obamunism is like one of those parties that some people throw in their beach houses on sandbank islands when a Category Five hurricane is approaching. What, Me Worry? Everyone is happy waiting for Daddy Obama and those caring, concerned Democrats to drop fat worms into our widely-opened mouths. We just declare the worms exist (nemitodii stimulatus) and there they are! The economic collapse of Europe is interesting but what does a 6% decline in GDP in Germany have to do with us? If the Taliban takes over in Pakistan why should we care? Nuclear Iran? Not our problem. Somali pirates? Hey maybe we can make a movie about these poor saps and have Johnny Depp play the Head Pirate just for laughs!

Because one of the worst mistakes of the Obamunists is the presenting of our bungling non-action in Somalia as some kind of a victory. The pirates got a green light for more thuggery and the world got the message that this four-flushing phony will take a victory on the cover of People Magazine instead of risking a real response to an international crisis. Another is our broadcasting to the world that we intend to prosecute the people who squeezed the secret plans of our Islamonazi terrorist enemies from them while we label our peaceful political opposition as potential terrorists. The world is also looking askance at the ever-increasing bond auctions of our Federal and State governments as they work to fulfill the rights they've told a gullible public they can expect.

So as Barry gives Hero Chavez the ghetto handshake the Taliban moves in for the kill in Pakistan, the North Koreans fire ballistic missiles into Japan's airspace, and Iran readies their first nuke for testing the American press goes insane complimenting BHO on our much-improved image in the world. As the banks slide further toward insolvency, the UAW seizes control of GM and Chrysler, the Fed pours vast oceans of money into a shrinking economy, the cap-and-trade disaster looms and unemployment creeps into double digits the press and the public are agog at the many accomplishments in this First Hundred Days of the New Age. If you deny that socialism doesnt work and I deny that socialism doesnt work then it works! Another Great President said something similar and he had a 60% approval rating, too.

Make no mistake. The problem that this country has is that everybody now expects to get more out of the system than they put in. Everybody. Its mass insanity. Dementia. The Gods are laughing. They know how this story ends. Obama isnt Achilles, he's Hector.

I'm Mad as a Hatter and I'm not going to take it anymore! Wait, there's something really wrong with that sentence...Oh, I see! I am going to take it. Lots of it. All the time. More and more. Does that sound a little cynical? After all I'm a proud attendee of a Tea Party, one of the many protests against the creeping cancer of Obamunism that has made us forget the maddening bureaucrat who ran the government just a few months ago.

I never appreciated one of W's stronger qualities. He didnt cut the size of government. In fact it grew enormously under his stewardship. But he was pretty good at running that big, huge monstrosity. The actual screw-ups were few and when they popped up they were dealt with pretty effectively. Bush never overestimated what could or could not be done. Its telling that the greatest 'screw-up' of the Bush Administration was more of a public-relations defeat than an instance of actual incompetence. If you compare the Feds actions during Hurricane Katrina to the State Of Louisiana, run by the hopelessly incompetent Kathleen Blanco; or if you view the complete disintegration of the New Orleans city government and take note of the craven, cowardly behavior of its mayor and many of the members of its police and fire departments you'd have to admit that the Fed's initial paralysis, quickly overcome with the arrival of the military, was mild by comparison.

Bush didnt come off the rails until the financial dominoes started falling. His descent into Keynesianistic check-mailing was the first time he utterly abandoned any kind of conservatism and openly pursued liberal policies. His former liberal actions (immigration, education) were taken because these issues were being pushed hard in the media and by powerful political players. Bush didnt want to fight the trend and lose; he'd rather be part of a crappy deal after he had blunted the worst aspects of it in a compromise. But the check-mailing was no compromise with the liberals. Bush thought of it and pushed it. He hired Henry Paulsen (a Democrat) and worked on the bank bailout. There were alternatives, the repeal of the Sarbanes-Oxley mark-to-market accounting rules and the creation of liquidity by the Fed but I think Bush did the only politically possible thing he thought he could do.

But now we are in the hands of different people. Their fumbling, patently dishonest statements peg them as ideologues with absolutely no managerial skill at all. The gangsters in the legislature treat the Obama hippies with the contempt they deserve, sending up bills for President LePetomane to sign lustily as his Hedly Lamar-like Axelrod stands leering on the sidelines. Thinly-veiled contempt is what Obama gets from the majority of the world's leaders, appalled at grandstanding Barry's lack of gravitas. Ditto from the Somali pirates in their safe, unbombed pirate lairs. Everybody who deals with this clown comes away scratching their heads.

The freak-show claque of screwballs Barry has picked as Cabinet heads seem to be competing for who can say the dumbest, most offensively outrageous thing in front of a TV camera. Is Janet Napolitano doing as good a job at the HSA as she did governing Arizona? What moronities will The Smartest Woman In The Universe over at State utter next? Could Eric Holder be any more glassy-eyed and Orwellian? He's like the Trotsky of the Obama Revolution. Timothy Geithner's inept actions have sparked a panic to dump dollars at the same time he's peddling two trillion dollars of worthless bonds. And the beloved VP, Slow-Joe Biden, the man whose chia-pet-like plug-job is an inspiration to Hair Club members everywhere; what of his many weird statements? Every time he breaks loose from the well-guarded estate where he has been attending to extremely important business at the behest of Barry, the Bide-Man finds a camera and proves that he is by far the dumbest idiot who ever threatened to become president. The living, breathing argument against any of Janet Napolitano's angry returning veterans aiming their laser-guided weapons in Barry's direction. This is not a group that exudes managerial competence. The Chinese are frightened and appalled enough to be worried about their stash of dollars and not very receptive to buying any of the new bond issues that are being floated. There certainly arent hundreds of Chinese illegal immigrants donating to Barry the way they did with Hillary.

So if everyone else in the world, or should I say everybody in the world who doesnt watch Oprah and The Daily Show or read People Magazine, has a sneering contempt of Obamunism and sees it for the con that it is, why, when a few flag-waving conservatives gather on some windy, cold street corners to protest the direction in which things are going, are we labeled extremist nuts? Is Sarkozy an extremist nut? The entire British press corps? Well, I'm not either. I just see what is obvious.

Now some of my fellow demonstrators definitely fit into the high-fiber definition. Is abolishing the income-tax or the Federal Reserve a politically viable position at the moment? No, its crazy talk. So is fervent opposition to abortion. You can argue these things until you are blue in the face but the fact remains that they are completely politically impossible at this time and saying them loudly, as though they are the main point isolates you politically. And if these are your only issues, if the present danger doesnt make you want to sublimate them and fight for the survival of our most basic economic and political freedoms then you are as useless as any Earth Day-worshiping liberal. There was an odd assortment of Ron Paulians and people with over-the-top political obsessions present but most of the people in that windy plaza were just regular types, frightened by what they see coming. A surprising number of young people.

The sense that I felt from the Tea Party I attended in the giant government complex in Van Nuys was that we had to get together to stop the things that are happening now, not yell about pie-in-the-sky issues that are decades away from resolution. If we dont all drop our little personal agendas and just work to oppose the people who now have almost total power those other issues will become meaningless. As it is we are faced with a government which is about to embark on one of the greatest social engineering schemes in world history. They are going to fix the weather. I dont say that with any sense of satire or irony, that is exactly what they plan to do. What has happened in the last two months is nothing. The EPA has announced today that dozens of chemicals are 'greenhouse gases that are threats to human health'. They dont need any legislation or action from the executive branch to begin the crusade against your car, your refrigerator, your air-conditioner, your job, your way of life.

The courts will mandate that these Evil, Greedy Corporations stop releasing Greenhouse Gas and impose punitive damages to be collected by greedy lawyers and New Age non-profit foundations. The courts will rule your car unconstitutional. The courts have now reached the point where they can rule anything they want and that ruling has the effect of law. The Constitution has become malleable in the hands of these leftists and has lost all its meaning. They can now invoke the EPA finding and close every fossil-fuel-burning power plant in the country. The feeble, expensive stream of windmill and solar-panel generated electricity into your house will be enough to run a few dim, mercury-filled, hazardous light bulbs and your computer (which will also be your TV set, phone, link with the world). Do you think I'm kidding? You think these hippies are going to let you keep that chloro-fluorocarbon-filled refrigerator which is writing a death-warrant for polar bears and melting the polar ice caps? Think again, Amigo.

The people at the Tea Party, from the crazies to the average folks who were there, could quote the liberal's rhetoric very accurately. It was a nice crowd but there werent any newbies. These were all hard-core anti government, anti-liberals. It was like the Peace Movement in 1966. The masses hadnt caught on and so everyone had the same sense of purpose in the face of what looked like overwhelming odds. Everyone I talked to had a level of awareness that was very satisfying to me. They all knew that spending trillions of dollars on absolute nonsense would wreck the currency. They all knew that the State Of California didnt have a prayer to avoid fiscal calamity. They knew that these genius's ludicrous attempt to influence the weather was a pathway to serfdom and poverty. It was like being around old friends. No one needed to say very much. The Present Danger was apparent to all.

But can the juggernaut be stopped? Not with this crowd. Not in this political system. The system will fail on its own and then we are in tremendous danger. Democracy is not working. The legislators of both parties are too prone to handing out goodies to their friends, the lifetime judges have become enamored of imposing their social theories on us peasants from the bench, the permanent bureaucracy has a mind and life of its own. There is no controlling legal authority. When the sheet hits the fan the frightened population will dump what remains of its freedom looking for easy answers; the election of these Democrats proves that. A man on a horse will emerge to pick up the pieces.

As I left the Tea Party I rode home on The Orange Line, part of a giant tens of billions of dollars mass transit boondoggle that was designed to peaceably separate Angelenos from their beloved automobiles. An expensive failure. The only Angelenos that were riding it when I did were Spanish-speaking folks who came to this country because here, if you work hard and get a little bit ahead, you can buy yourself a car. Too late fellas! Los coches son el mal. (Cars are evil.)

In the century since Sigmund Freud asked that question many people have tried to answer that question, with varying degrees of success. Have the most penetrating answers come from the world of psychiatry? The overfunded 'Feminist Studies' departments of elite universities? Sage philosophers after much deep pondering? Nope. None of these wise-guys have ever brought any insight to this important question.

So who knows? Who can penetrate the very inner souls of our female wives, daughters, girlfriends, colleagues, and friends? Its so obvious and so simple---the people who make automatic dishwashers! Yes guys, while we would be perfectly happy to have every dish we own coated with a hardened layer of whatever frozen entree we microwaved onto it and laying unwashed in the sink while the hungry cats try to lick some sustenance from the caked-on fossilized goo women are not so easy-going. Even if they are not even in the same room as the dirty dishes they will never be happy or relaxed knowing that they are sitting there, calling out to be sparkling clean and sitting happily in their proper place in the cabinet.

The ancient Chinese pictograph for 'contentment' is a woman under a roof. The modern American pictograph would be a woman standing next to a dishwasher. She pours the viscous oozing liquid into the little plastic door, snaps it shut, closes the door, hits a couple of buttons and PRESTO! the next morning her or her significant other removes all the past day's previously dirty, but now shining clean, dishes and places them in their proper places. Its like the cycle of life; some dishes are used every day. The breakfast ones only stay in their appointed storage places for a few minutes. Some dishes are used intermittently. Some so rarely that its hard to remember where they go. But even a husband can be trusted to load the dishwasher (if there's not too many glasses, dishes, cooking bowls and pots and pans), and males are even capable of operating this simple domestic machine. Well-trained husbands can even unload with a fair degree of accuracy.

Since the middle of the 20th century this time-honored ecology of spotless dishes has ground on in countless households. Unchanging, timeless. But outside of the kitchen a new reality was taking hold in the bigger, wider world in which the innocent dishwashers were a tiny, unnoticed corner of reality, chugging away contentedly freeing women from the chore of washing dishes and men from the occassional guilt of either not washing dishes or sitting by shamefacedly while their female companion washes them. Women began to seize power. They looked around at the Male Patriarchy permeating every aspect of our traditional culture and said, "Enough!" They listened to Oprah and Rachel Maddow and they wised up to the raw deal they've been getting since the first protozoan crawled from the sea two billion years ago. They voted for Freedom, the voted for Progress, they voted for Women's Rights, they voted for Democrats! Radical Democrats, the Redder the better. The Planet is in mortal danger from these hairy testosterone apes, humanity's hope for survival has been left in the sink caked with a layer of hardened patriarchal slime while these clods go off to surf for porn on the internet. The Redder the better and the Greener the better.

But one day, in Spokane, Washington, anywhere USA, a funny thing happened...a woman woke up at the usual time and went to the dishwasher and removed--a DIRTY DISH! In fact, all the dishes were covered with a thin, sticky film of slime. They werent clean! How had this happened? Its simple. In the name of the Planet the local pols had decreed that there should be No More Phosphates in any dishwashing liquid sold in Spokane County. The vile, planet-destroying, capitalist-enriching detergents were gone, replaced with eco-friendly, mixed-with-love, life-sustaining brands. Just one thing was wrong. All the wonderful, Planet-saving, Green detergents wont get dishes clean. The Big Lie of Environmentalism, that only a few minor adjustments to our lives will bring us back into harmony with the Goddess Gaia and her beautiful cycle of life, was writ large on the kitchen walls of Spokane. That there was no problem before doesnt matter. We have to Go Green! So Spokane, which had been existing quite happily with clean dishes has mandated dirty dishes just to do it. Because they care; and if you dont care you're part of the problem.

Of course the Spokanians arent the sort of folks to take this crap lying down. The Costco across the border in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho has been stripped of phosphate dishwashing liquids by alarmed and panicked residents of Spokane. We are living in an age of dishwashing liquid smugglers. Husbands and fathers have been forced to not shave for a couple of days and drive banged-up pickup trucks across the border to load up on 'suds' and drive back into Washington, pretending to be drunk, to throw off the sharp-eyed County Sheriffs who have been pulling over housewives in mini-vans whose springs and shocks are sagging under a heavy load of phosphate-loaded goo and making arrests.

"Whutta buncha saps!" you laugh? This particular 'Green' notion is more widespread than just Spokane. The same people who ripped the cigarette from your lips, are trying to outlaw your pickup truck and replace it with an electric wheelchair and empowered every old biddy in the universe to start squawking about your murderous hamburger habit are on a roll. And they hate your dishwasher. That power-guzzling, water-polluting waste of resources all used to make your pathetic little life 'easier'. You dont care about the Planet very much, do you? And these are the maniacs who won the last election. They were elected by a crowd of people who wanted change. Those people didnt know what 'change' meant but it sounded pretty good after looking at Bush's ugly little face for eight years. And if your going to vote for The Big O why not go down-ballot and vote Green as well? That'll fix them greedy polecats on Wall Street!

But again their contentment has been shattered by another intrusion by the Busybody State. Now, that's OK with me. I would be happy to return to washing out utensils on a Need To Use basis. But I'm married. The corollary to the question, "What Do Women Want?" is "What Do Women Hate?". The answer, of course, is a sink full of dirty dishes, dishwasher liquid that doesnt work, and a husband, tired from a day of honest toil, settling happily down into comfortable bliss in a soft sofa or easy chair with not a care in the world. What woman would sit still for that? So, now that the communist lunatics that she voted for have ruined her life, who is it who is going to pay for it?

Men, that's who! How many three-pointers are going to sail into the basket while you're in the kitchen up to your elbows in soap suds and hot greasy water? In fact, even when you're done your return to comfort will be in a room dominated by the noise of happy residents painting the walls in their houses strange, florid colors as insanely gay men talk about 'window treatments' and granite countertops. Yes she has taken advantage of the crisis caused by her socialist allies to seize the remote. Hope And Change, like any other system, has winners and losers and guess what you former Male Patriarch...You Lose! Is she going to start voting for people who will protect the integrity of her dishwashing liquid? Nope. She's just going to get a new dishwasher--that would be you, amigo!

And if us older curmudgeons are helpless what of our sons? Those poor, hapless lads whose innocent high-jinks were rewarded with mind-twisting counseling and a lifetime addiction to Ritalin and who have been bombarded with feminist and eco-greenie propaganda since birth? They'll have the burgers ripped from their lips, the 4 wheel drive will disappear from their axles, contact sports will be outlawed but these doughy little wusses wont have the nads to vote for their own freedom. They'll continue to Save The Planet. Enjoy doing the dishes fellas! The vacuum cleaner is next.

If your Representative or Senator voted to make Nancy 'Stretch' Pelosi Speaker Of The House or Harry 'The Body' Reid Senate Majority Leader then they are a dyed-in-the-wool out-and-out commie left-wing socialist America-hating anti-capitalist freedom-ending radical Marxist. The only difference between a 'Blue Dog' Democrat and Chuck Schumer or Barney Frank is that the 'Blue Dogs' have constituencies slightly less politically retarded than the Bright Blue centers of socialist idiocy and are forced to lie about who they really are so that they can hornswoggle normally sensible people into voting for them. You would think it was obvious that residents of Nebraska or Virginia would have more sense than people who live in New York, California or Massachusetts, thats a no brainer, but look at the lying liberal weasels they send to the Senate; Jim 'Melonhead' Webb, who ran as Ronald Reagan and votes like Hugo Chavez, and that sneaky sloped-brow pinko Neanderthal Ben Nelson, who is always involved in thoughtful dialog with RINO Republicans like Arlen Spectacle, Olympia Snow-Job and Thusan Collinth, crafting filibuster-proof majorities in the Senate for the latest attack on our country dreamed up by the Stalinist Leadership. Obamunists all. So any time you vote for any Democrat for any office, no matter how 'moderate' they pretend to be, remember that you are voting to decrease your freedom, raise your taxes, fund extremist groups, deny American sovereignty, cut the military and further destroy a country that was once the beacon of hope and freedom to the entire world.

But right now the tidal wave of cash printed by the Fed and handed out to all and sundry by the beneficent megastate is having the effect of temporarily halting the headlong slide to rock bottom. It seems a few rays of sunlight are peeking through the gray gloom of Obamunism and lending a faint hope to the immediate present. The crash was like when the lights go out in a tough waterfront bar; a lot of scores get settled. In this case companies who were dying to clean house did it all at once under the cover of the general emergency. It seemed that all of a sudden everyone I knew either got laid off or was fearing a layoff...including my wife who is a low-paid library aide running a library in an elementary school. At least in the film industry you expect to get laid off but a friend of mine is a Civil Engineer at the same job for decades who was completely unglued by layoffs at his company. His 401k has lost two-thirds of its value, his mortgage is 'under water' and he's been forced to take a 20% pay-cut. Better than being one of the 50% of his firm who got the boot, I suppose. An Obama voter, too, but it would be stupid to rub that in his face right now. Wait till election time. Lets see how eager he is to re-elect Henry Waxman.

But the current calm is deceptive. The infusion of bogus cash created by the Fed might have roused the stock market a bit but the firing of corporate CEOs by the government and a crop of legislation completely deleterious to any expansion of economic activity bode ill for the future. As does a precipitous drop in tax revenues and an increasing load on pension plans and Social Security by laid off older workers who want to take early retirement. Social Security, supposed to be in surplus until 2017, is soon to be in the red. In the red even without the anticipated addition of tens of millions of illegal aliens made eligible for SSI handouts by 'immigration reform'.

Meanwhile, the ever-lovable Barney Frank has shepherded a bill through committee without debate that would give the government control over all salaries. Confiscatory Federal and State tax hikes are going to make any income over $150k completely meaningless--and inflation is going to put a raft of Obamunists who were shouting, "Eat The Rich!" from their low tax-brackets all of a sudden on the hook for a bunch of unexpected taxes. The upper middle class bourgeois bedroom-community granola-eaters will be feeling the bite of this as every penny that they worked and saved for is lost. There is already a problem of abandoned unsellable small boats, too expensive to moor and maintain, cluttering the coastal waters as owners ditch the useless hulks in a desperate effort to cut their bottom-line costs. Another industry destroyed.

And if wage controls are put in place can price controls be far behind? If hyper-inflation is a problem why not just pass a law against it? That'll create a nice sunny business climate, along with the inevitable shortages and disruptions that those kind of controls always cause. So if you've got anything in the stock market sell on the current upswing and then buy a ton of non-perishable consumer goods and stash them in your garage so you will have plenty of stuff to trade on the black market. Avoid gold which the greedy megastate always confiscates from the idiots who think their horde of dubloons will tide them through the tough times. Even if the government forgets to confiscate them what will they be worth? A can of beans? Better to invest in the can of beans, they're a lot cheaper and if you dont trade them you can still eat them.

But dont tell your friends, whatever you do. One of the characteristics of socialism is that it engenders total selfishness and dishonesty in the people live under it. You dont tell anyone what you've got going because trading your can of beans for a new t-shirt is illegal. Hoarding your can of beans is illegal. Making any profit of any kind is illegal. So keep your mouth shut and cry poor.

Meanwhile, enjoy the calm before the storm and enjoy being able to oppose this madness. The life of a socialist peon is a life of the mind, the life of an artist. You'll have time to surf the web and dandle your grandchildren on your knee. You're as successful now as you are ever going to be so dont worry about it. Socialism is the art of cruising through life without making waves. You run your little scams and enjoy what you can cheat out of the system.

Thats the world that our moderate Democrat friends and their bi-partisan Republican allies have dragged us into. The hard-core Obamunists will do all the heavy lifting, but really, what are the chances that we'll elect people who will go to DC or the Statehouse and make REAL cuts? Zero. We can enjoy all the tea parties we want but everyone is getting a subsidy of some sort and its ingrained in our minds that they belong to us by right. The Bill Of Rights is less important than my right to my Social Security check or my right to a cheap, subsidized class in 'Pornography In World History' at the local community college. We just have to learn to adapt and wait for the wind to change.

Yes even Carter, one of the worst presidents ever, could still field questions from a pack of reporters. Think if Nixon had shown up with a teleprompter-equipped podium for the pressers he did as Watergate closed in on him. Dan Rather would have ripped one of the screens off the podium to try to club The Trickster with it. What if Obama gets in a very tight spot where the whole country is pissed off at him, will he bring his teleprompters to that press conference?

Who is this guy? There are these serious things going on all around and he doesnt even seem like a player. Its like having a male model for President. Yes, he is really, really, really good looking, I'll give you that, but do we want Zoolander at the helm of the ship of state while a Category Five hurricane is going on outside and the cargo is on fire? What kind of people voted for these idiots without noticing how completely lame they were?

There are times in the past when I've been embarrassed at my going over the top. My family and friends think that I'm a completely flipped out loonie with my weird right-wing obsessions. Sometimes I believed them. What was wrong with me? Was this the ultimate LSD flashback? Was I hallucinating catastrophe where there was none? Did I really think that all those things I said about liberals were true? They're not really going to end free markets and free speech. I mean, calm down!

What about those other kooks I 'blog' with? Probably a bunch of unwashed agouraphobiacs in dimly-lit house trailers deep in the backwoods in their cammo pajamas, disassembled guns on the coffee table, loose bullets rolling on the floor waking the two obese Akita-Rottwieler mixed spike collared savage mongrel fleabags, sitting in the empty beer can and bargain rye bottled landscape grinding their teeth with anger at the bad old Democratic Commie Conspiracy. It just wasnt going to be that bad, I mean really! We were overreacting, c'mon, admit it!

But it is that bad, we werent overreacting. These Democrats are as bad as the nuttiest fruit-bar drunken fever-brained right-wing lunatic ever imagined they would be. Worse. Those socialist mutts are in the process of screwing everything up ON PURPOSE! Thats how stupid a Harvard degree makes a person. I dont take back one word I've ever said about the Democrats. They havent neglected to be as bad as my worst imaginings thought they would be. In fact, I curse myself for being a mealy-mouthed temporizer who has been too kind to these creeps who stand poised to steal everything I have, cancel the Bill Of Rights and destroy my country.

Why dont the people around me notice that policies are being introduced that will have these effects? They dont notice because they see Obama, not on CSPAN or in the columns posted on RCP.com but on the Tonight Show or in the pages of People Magazine. They dont have a running political commentary in their ears that makes any sense. Things are scary and this really, really, really good looking guy says he's going to deal with it so like chill baby! Just set a few Wall Street Baddies to rights and we can all get on with our lives. National Public Radio hasnt panicked so why should we?

We live in a time when the people who waved fingers and yelled at the top of their lungs at George Bush's $400 billion deficit now are proposing a budget with a two trillion dollar deficit! Half of this is stuffed into a 'stimulus' bill that didnt have one single thing in it that would stimulate the economy in any way. That dead mackerel has been stinking up the political landscape for a few weeks now and I still have yet to read one single explanation of a cause and effect relationship between the passage of this bill and an increase in employment. But liberals arent big on Cause And Effect. They still cant show any data that there is a link between carbon dioxide emissions and global temperatures but they accept that there is because they want there to be to suit their political purposes.

Someone e-mailed me that they thought the Insane Commies were going to drop Cap And Trade or Card Check. They only will do that if some opposition develops that makes it politically impossible. But what opposition? If all enforcement of voter-fraud laws is suspended then they always have as many votes as they need. And the People Magaziners dont care. The fear that The Founders had of democracy is writ large in the actions of the modern Democratic Party. A few more of these destructive policies put in place will create 20-30% unemployment and rampant inflation. And Our Socialist Masters will be happy if carbon emissions decline. Whew! Great! We Saved The Planet! What a sense of planetary pride we'll all have living on a fifth of the income we make now.

Because that is their biggest crime. The Democrats have destroyed our currency. Our money will be worth as much as the empty lies of our leaders. Our economy will not be producing anything anyone would consider worth buying. The era where America was a dominant force in world events is over. The days of decent medical care for anyone but an elite few are drawing to a close. The age of individual automobile ownership are numbered. Your 3000 square foot house will be impossible to heat or cool. We might be lucky enough to afford to run a small refrigerator and a few forty-watt light bulbs. Bye bye the Big Screen! Think you got rid of those danged kids? In poor countries ten and fifteen people of all generations live together in one small house to pool resources.

I hope I'm crazy, but I dont think I am. All these bad ideas have been kicking around for decades. When libs would stand up and propose most of the things that are on their way to become law in the next few months audio tapes would get played on Talk Radio so we could all have a good chuckle at how loonie these left wing nuts were. Well, he who laughs last. The joke is on us.

One of the big rationales for 'moderate Republicanism' is that the hard-core conservatism of the neolithic base turns off minorities who are a rapidly-growing percentage of the population, dooming the party to demographic destruction. Party hacks gaze yearningly into the distance as they envision millions of 'minorities', inspired by the reasonableness of their views on giveaway programs and amnesty flocking across the aisle to vote Republican.

So these guys think they can take this wonderful sensitivity down to South-Central and unseat Maxine Waters? They're not even going to try because the people in charge of the party are afraid to go down there and they dont understand what they need to do to connect with black people and Latinos who live in those neighborhoods. There are many potential conservatives in minority neighborhoods but few potential Republicans. You dont think that there are Latinos who are pissed off about bad schools, rampant crime, high taxes and stupid anti-business government? Well you're wrong. Many of the Central and South Americans are very conservative and very middle class and are looking at Obama leading the same anti-wealth, anti-success zealots who wrecked the economy in the countries they fled to come here. Americans, never having experienced a lawless left-wing dictatorship, might be fooled by this class-warfare guff but Venezuelans have heard it before. People from the West Indies and Africa are also very conservative and they have large communities in the districts that you are targeting. Muslims are also culturally and financially conservative. But all this is academic. Geeks who have graduated from Top Universities engage in minority outreach by having seminars with other geek graduates from Top Universities who happen to be black or have a last name like Martinez. The 'solutions' always involve giving more power to the state and raising taxes. This is what the McLame Republicans think is going to lure 'minorities' to vote for them.

Its not going to happen. Some ethnic groups might become conservatives in reaction to the failure of leftist policies in their own neighborhoods but they are never going to be attracted by a party hardly distinguishable from the Democrats and which is a caricature of The Evil White Establishment. I know of a Korean businessman, a tax-hating, devoutly Christian entrepreneur, who voted for Obama because he just couldnt say yes to the moth-eaten old white guy. When you dont have any ideas appearances become the most important factors in an election. The conservatives who bring minorities to the conservative movement are going to arise from within those communities and are not likely to survive politically if they are wishy-washy moderates.

So if conservatives cant unseat Maxine Waters where can they go to make gains against the Democrats? I suggest that they target my Congressional District, California's 30th. The gerrymandered safe district for a wart-hog-like creature named Henry Waxman. Last year nobody wasted their time running against him. This district includes West Hollywood, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Westwood, Santa Monica and some similar communities on the other side of the mountains. The 30th is the most left-wing area in the country unless Nadler's district in Lower Manhattan or Pelosi's in San Francisco are taken into account. Except for Pelosi, Waxman is the single most obnoxious person in the House except possibly Barney Frank or Charles Wrangel, not forgetting Jack Murtha and David Obey...hey, OK he's in the top five or six, who's counting, the guy's a trainwreck! He conducts hearings against Evil Oil, Evil Tobacco, Evil Banks, Evil Car Executives and Evil Fast Food; if the left thinks its Evil Waxman conducts a hearing against it. He drags the executives in front of his committee and accuses them of...making a profit! He sees himself as a tribune of the people, the little guy's friend against Evil Monopolistic Oligarchs.

Thats great in Gary, Indiana, to be the friend of the burly but disenfranchised workers, but in Beverly Hills? In Beverly Hills their bonuses are cancelled, their stocks are a meltdown disaster area, and their beloved Barak is talking about who's going to pay for a trillion dollar giveaway. And Guess Who? They might be cool with getting a raise on their EITC south of Olympic in Maxine Waters' district but in the hills above Malibu's beautiful seacoast the liberals are meeting with their accountants and wondering about Hope And Change. When they see the breadth and scope of the coming Carbon Tax and realize what that is going to do to the value remaining in their battered portfolios how far to the left will they be then? A lot of the 'Old Money' that supported the left, held by the children and grandchildren of former celebrities, has disappeared. I'll bet donations to The Sierra Club and Greenpeace have fallen off a cliff.

So here's the opportunity. Target not the impoverished WalMart shoppers who are expecting manna to fall from Government Heaven but the people who are going to have to provide that manna from very reduced resources. Other issues could also be used to defeat Waxman in this district. Out of control labor unions (SAG and the WGA) are making demands and threatening strikes that could put all of the myriad administrative studio bureaucrats and behind-the-camera technical crews out of work permanently. Card-check will threaten the bottom line of every non-union studio. One of the bases of Waxman's support is the Jewish community. Not as strong as it used to be as the younger generations intermarry and drift away from strong involvement with the community but still a big factor. Did Waxman vote to reward Hamas with $900 million to make up for those Evil Israeli's unprovoked assault on the innocent rocketeers in the Gaza Strip? Yew betcha! Did he vote to support the assault on offshore tax shelters? Yup. Raising rates on upper income brackets? Ditto. Whereas Maxine Waters votes for goodies for her constituents Waxman consistently votes to strip the poor chumps in his own district of their remaining wealth.

Now, right at the moment the Wax Man seems pretty safe. Even though the Green Idiocy of Global Warming is increasingly discredited and the waffling evasions of the Gorians less and less believable the faith still holds sway in the manicured gardens of the mountain range that runs through the center of Los Angeles. When a Carbon Tax and a raised gasoline tax (Thanx Governator!) and the increasing government campaign to wipe out individual car ownership starts to bite many of these formerly wealthy types might start wilting on the vine, becoming less Green. As we abandon Israel to a new potential genocide at the hands of people even less savory than the National Socialists (at least the Nazis washed) will the Jews be so eager to support the Dems? As taxes pass 60-70% on marginal income and shelters and offshore dodges are removed will the people who going to pay more and more still be Democrats?

In a year this is going to be a very different country, reliable Democrat demographics are going to be questioning the wisdom of some of their most closely-held tenets. In one way Waxman is safe because there is almost universal support for legal abortion in the district and whatever candidate who runs against him will have to be pro-choice. Not pro dumping billions down the stem-cell rathole choice. Not making people who think abortion is murder pay for other people's abortions choice. Not forcing Catholic hospitals and doctors to perform abortions in the new Federal Health Care System choice. Not partial-birth choice--Waxman is in favor of all those things BTW. But in favor of legal abortions in the early stages of pregnancy choice. Since the courts and the California Constitution prevent any change in the laws on this subject and the issue is a total loser in the district for Republicans in these upscale districts the rationale for handing this issue on a platter to the Dems is very thin. However, the few remaining Republicans in the 30th are pretty hard-core and pro-life. Ironically enough a candidate who could seriously challenge Waxman would have a tougher time winning the nomination than whipping the Wart-Hog.

Guns are another matter. Right now the matrons of these neighborhoods think that every one of those extra Y chromosome testosterone gun-toting freaks down in the flats should have every single gun and bullet confiscated immediately. The husbands more soberly understand that the police or the private security service are a distance away up winding hillside roads and keep a discreet pistol or two within reach. As the Hugo Chavez-style class warfare heats up and the state and municipal governments wallow in unpayable pensions and debt while their tax receipts fall there will be fewer police and many more criminals, motivated by a sense of justice against the undeserving rich. When the government takes the police away will those same people, the most likely victims of crime, support harsh measures to take their guns away?

There are other issues. The point is that the Democratic party policies are going to impact the upper middle class and the professional classes disproportionately. Classes which have already lost a huge chunk of their wealth which they will never get back, Obama's high tax rates will make that certain. In districts like the one I live in the incumbents could be attacked using simple catchphrases on billboards that would direct people to a website that had brief, entertaining and very simple videos that put the argument that pro-business is better than anti-business, that the megastate is NOT your friend. Waxman and his zealous followers are easy to lampoon. Make Waxman's face the face of economic decline. If things are as bad as I think they will be then a clear, distinct conservative message will resonate. We all have to do everything we can to keep the message clear and stressing parts of that message that hit where the Democrats are the weakest. The 'moderates' might be some hindrance but the coming hyperinflation and economic decline are going to radicalize people one way or another so there will be fewer of them anyway. If conservatives have the clearest and most logical message we can win in places that have been lost to us for decades.

As I've been reading other people's blogs and the comments on mine I've come to realize how ill-equipped most 'average' conservatives are for the New Age Of Obama. I've just watched Gordon Brown's speech to Congress and was swept with a black feeling of gloom as his suggestion that we have a Global Managed Economy got a thunderous ovation from the half-wits the voters have chosen to lead us into the pit of destruction. The guy whose cowardly government just expelled a Dutch MP for threatening to show a film that criticizes 'The Religion Of Peace' spoke out against unnamed 'terrorists'. Maybe its Rush Limbaugh he was talking about...

But the point is, when a total zero like Brown, fleeing the angry lynch-mob that is developing in Britain howling for his blood, can come over here and get a standing O for more of the policies that are ending an era of prosperity which started in 1945 and is now being crushed by the megastate, then we are well and truly screwed. Even a total political flip in 2010 wont keep us from a resounding crash, it will only help us pick up the pieces after it happens. And we have to survive in the meantime.

In England in the 70's Cockney rhyming slang for being on the dole (welfare in all its forms) was 'on the rock and roll'. And thats the first lesson of a successful transition to our New Age.
Its not a shame that the government is paying your mortgage, putting food on your table, giving you free medical care, buying you heating oil and paying you to attend some community college classes which are filled with people a nice person like you can only describe as 'losers'. Its cool. Its your right! It frees up all 168 hours of the week for you to be you!

Now, you want to get the most from your permanent vacation and not do anything to mess up getting the maximum the State will pay.

Unemployment insurance is your first stop. In the old days you stood in line and went up to a window with your filled-out form and they then handed you your dough in cash. The first time I was on unemployment I collected at the Hollywood office which was a melange of film industry types, chronic losers and regular criminals. That was the first time I ever saw a three-card-monte game as the foolish and thoughtless were buttonholed on their way out of the office by the local sharks. You always bumped into actors, camera crew, grips and scenery painters and people like that. I had an animation union card. Any craft union card or a SAG card meant that the people behind the desk left you alone. It was a 'get out of jail free' card. Because UI cant send you to a job that pays less than the one you were laid-off from. If that job paid $50 an hour... I collected UI for three months in Hawaii. All you have to do is phone two potential employers a week and you're cool. Now you apply for UI online at home and everything is done through the mail. More civilized, less fun.

The rules of UI are easy to learn and easy to evade. Yes evade! John Adams said that the Constitution would only work for a Godly and moral people. Well, those days are over so dump that Coolidge-Era ethical baggage and learn the joys of situational morality. I mean, after all, if they didnt want you to break the rules then they wouldnt be giving you a crappy $450 a week, extended into infinity by the stimulus bill. You have a right to evade something that unfair! And evade means cash income. Under the table. Thats not so easy now, unless you like shoveling gizzards down at the poultry plant and are fluent in Michoacan-accented Spanish. But once Card Check (the Worker Freedom Act) is passed and unionization and government-mandated wage and benefit rates become mandatory most employers, even the most white-collar, will need a work force who can be hired and laid off on a casual (aka cash) basis. The taxes and work rules on regular employees will become unsupportable and employees will be happy to evade the crushing taxes themselves. Believe me, it will happen.

And one day you will be looking at that little form, with the cash you earned that week in your pocket and you will check NO to the question "did you work that week?" Who cares? Thats the beauty of situational ethics, everything is now! You can be really sorry later if, by some miracle, you get caught. But lets face it, what are the odds of that? This is the government we're dealing with, after all. In my early incarnation as a hippie, when I got laid off from my seasonal job drawing Scooby or The Jetsons at a cartoon studio I would get my pal Mark to drop a pound of pot off at my shack in Echo Park and just sell ounces to people that I knew for a little off-the-record income. Now, I might have gotten busted by the cops for selling weed but its darned tootin' the folks at Unemployment would have never found out about it.

Is all this reading making you hungry? This compassionate country is not going to let a good citizen like you starve. Since you're on unemployment you've got all day to pull this one off. Dont go alone to any welfare office, especially if you're a male over fifty, so you have someone else to hold your place in line or listen for your name to be called while you brave the reeking crime-infested bathroom or to go outside to the taco trucks parked by the entrance. Its a good idea to do some research on the byzantine rules that govern the issuance of Food Stamps. These programs were set up to serve the illiterate and the incompetent and are relatively easy to game if you think ahead. You want to hand them a form and have a story that meets the criteria. The 'truth' is not an issue here. They dont care about it, they dont want to hear it. They just want to process your form and give you your stamps. No life story, no explanation. The less you say the better. Be drunk or incoherent. This isnt a job interview, you're here because you're a loser so act like one!

The only time I was on Food Stamps was at the beginning of the program in the late 60's. The people in the commune in the mountains of northern New Mexico I lived in took our truck to the junkyard where we purchased a few old wood-burning stoves which we put in a couple of the shacks in our little valley, one even in the teepee, even though we all cooked and ate in the main house that we had built, because Food Stamps, at that time, were given on the basis of 'households', meaning separate kitchens. Too many people in a 'household' would lower the amount each person got. They came and inspected so everybody had to know what to say. The Indians at the pueblo up the river got us up to speed on the rules. Those close-to-the-earth indigenes would all pool their Food Stamps each month, buy huge sacks of sugar that they could mix with left-over plums or apples in the fields and turn into valuable moonshine which they sold to a thirsty public. They even accepted Food Stamps for their White Lightning. So close to nature they were... These days you can probably find out what you need to know on the internet.

Remember 'Acceptamos Cupones' means your stamps will be welcome both at the cash register or in the parking lot. I used to hang out with some junkies in San Francisco who would steal t-bone steaks in grocery stores and then sell them at a big discount in the parking lot for stamps or cash. Then they would sell the stamps at a discount and go score some heroin...the only commodity in that neighborhood that you couldnt buy for Food Stamps. Friendly store owners will sell just about anything for Stamps; liquor, cigarettes, even ammo for some of you Second Amendment types. Prostitutes will have sex with you for Food Stamps. Need a gun or a hot TV set? Stamps are part of the mix. Its like a parallel currency. Once this Depression gets rolling who knows what you'll be able to buy? Cruises to the Virgin Islands, jewelry, the mind boggles.

Remember George Moscone, the mayor of San Francisco who was assassinated by Dan White? I lived near a group called 'The Foundation Of Revelation' who were convinced that God was this little Indian dude who lived over on Scott Street with his nine wives. One of God's commandments was that every election day his children would campaign for anybody Moscone told them to work for. In return some of the Foundation's 'children' were made welfare workers charged with overseeing the welfare cases of the others in the Foundation. You see, all existence is circular! Political influence is important so organize your community and you cant go wrong!

Now these are the basic programs. Promising students will graduate to advanced programs like Disability, which pays more than UI and is permanent unless you're like the disabled fireman who got busted because he won a race up the stairs to the top of the Empire State Building. Avoid this sort of publicity. Just be mellow. There's a whole new set of rules and regs coming up because the gov is about to Stalinize the health care system. If you want your Medical Marijuana or party Vicodens for free you better learn the rules carefully. Remember Lady MacBeth saying, "Look like the innocent flower but be the serpent under it."? Well you should look like a total basket case but be informed and purposeful in your funky t-shirt. Your new career as a ward of the state can be fun and rewarding, make the most of it!

So, jaw thrust out in typical socialist fashion like Fidel or Hugo, our 'slightly-left-of-center' Maximum Leader proposed government regulation of banker's salaries and policies that would amount to the quasi-nationalization of the banks, blamed the now effectively nationalized auto companies' problems on their feeble management and not on the predatory unions which have crippled The Big Three and now the taxpayers with endlessly increasing labor costs, declared his intention to nationalize health care and proclaimed his desire to invest trillions converting to the most expensive, unreliable energy sources in his Quixotic quest to bring the weather under the control of the State. A nice evening's work for our 'slightly-left-of-center' Caudillo. The markets are only down 150 points so far this morning but give them time to mull over the Stalinist nature of his proposals; stocks will soon be as worthless as the currency we have to buy them with.

This is good. The Wall Street types who were so groovy and voted Green deserve, like modern-day Phineuses, to have every penny of their Capitalist loot striped from their pudgy fingers by these Marxist harpies before it reaches their famished offshore accounts. We can all smile in anticipation when we think of the Cuba-style health care we're about to receive. After all, didn't Michael Moore say it was so much better? Thank goodness we're getting 'slightly-left-of-center' policies, like Hugo or Fidel, instead of 'really-left-of-center' ones like Pol Pot or Kim Jong Il.

And werent we all charmed by the coyote-faced visage of Comrade Pelosi in her green, padded Mao-style jacket leaping up like some Red Guard, driven to ecstasy by the sonorous words of The Great Helmsman Of Change as each new outrage against our misguided country fell from his lips? She was so deliriously happy when The Master Of Change denounced the private aircraft of the bankers it almost wiped out the memory of her gigantic tantrum that the Speaker's private jet was unsuitably small. Did Newt have a government-provided 747 at his fingertips? Dummy Hastert just had a U-Haul with its own self-contained forklift but I think the glitzy corporate-style jet is a perk invented by our plastic-faced Nancy Of The House. She came across like a glassy-eyed Moonie on mushrooms as the seemingly endless list of government programs and tax increases droned on and on.

Obama even turned to Vice President Slow-Joe and threatened to unleash him on the world as though that confuddled dummy was anything but a world-champion embarrassment. The phony smile that Slow-Joe gave The Magnanimous One as he received his tiny dollop of attention from Our National Parent oozed with insincerity. Its amazing to see the level of palpable hatred that apparently has grown up between these two because Doofus-Boy cant keep onto the script. If looks could kill...

Hey, and did you guys know that parents were important to their children's education? It is, I swear to God, Obama said it and its true. We'll need a wave of parental concern and responsibility to offset the trillion or so that BHO is promising as payoffs to the Education Beaurocrats so they can convert more science classes to the teaching of Climate Change religion, more history classes to the instruction in the Evil History Of Genocidal America and similar revisions in other subjects. Luckily the modern student has long-since abandoned any interest in the propagandistic pablum the Educrats are attempting to spoon down their unreceptive throats and are mainly engaged in texting each other semi-literate salacious messages on their Blackberries.

As The Great Medicator bragged that he has already added 11 million children to the Medicaid rolls and threatened to press-gang the rest of us into the tender mercies of a State-run medical system there were loving cutaways to the walking corpse of Darth Vader Ginsburg. Maybe after she kicks the bucket (any day now by the looks of her) she can become our first ACORN Justice and continue to vote on the court in the spirit of Fairness and Equity. If corpses can vote in Philadelphia and Minneapolis why not on The Court? Gee, after all the happy Dick Cheney heart-attack jokes we've been hearing for the last eight years and the endless prayers by the left for Clarence Thomas to have a coronary you would think Ms. Vader-Ginsburg's would provoke as much levity as fat Teddy's malignant brain, but apparently not.

The Mighty Barak even told a funny joke when he described the Stimulus Bill as 'earmark-free'! I almost swallowed my tongue. How stupid do these Marxists think we are? It was one big, fat trillion buck earmark. In fact the main impression this speech gave was its highlighting of Obama's tenuous connection to the truth. Doublethink. To enjoy this speech you had to ignore the nature of our trillion-dollar Stimulus Swindle and forget everything that Obama had ever said in the past. Will people ever catch on to this nonsense?

But then we had the Republican response. Sadly disappointing. Bobby Jindal might be great in policy and philosophy but he sure needs to hone his speechification skills. His weedy voice and the phony emphasis that came across as totally contrived were grating after the velvet tones of our Marxist Master. The Governor Of Louisiana lacked passion and fire, as though he was secretly worried that his words would contribute to Global Warming if they sizzled too much. I lost track of what he was saying really quickly. Oh well, he's got four years to practice and maybe people will be sick of demigogery by then. Maybe not.

So we now have a precis for the agenda of the mega-leftists who now completely control the entire government; executive, judicial, legislative on the local, state and federal levels. Obama has outlined the targets that the jackals are going for in this still-sunny period before the national bankruptcy overwhelms our will for ever more government economic destruction. He slipped a word in about his Cap and Trade tax scheme; wait until that one is unveiled,then you'll see how markets can tank and capital can flee! The last scraps of wealth will be stripped away from this country's citizens, every shred of hope torn from the breasts of our children, every enterprise crushed, our currency worthless, our hospitals filthy and broken, our borders open, the parasites fattening on the thinning blood of their dying host and all opposition expunged by a brutal and heartless radical government. The way things are going the guy making the soup will probably be an out-of-work gourmet chef and he will use his effete and now useless skills to take the refuse the merciless megastate is doling out to the poor and come up with a passable bisque. The rolls will be created from a wheatshorts-sawdust mixture by a formerly famous pastry chef who now lives on a pallet of greasy rags and flea-infested straw in a corner of the shelter and fights other inmates for dropped cigarette butts on the street.

What? These upper middle class posers didnt know that when they voted in a socialist government in the last free election in 2008 they were voting for downward mobility? But...But...Bush Lied! Of course Obama made some mistakes and had a few unfortunate friends who made mistakes and the stimulus bill might have been a mistake and even shooting Rush Limbaugh for crimes against the state might have been a little troubling but what about The Children? And The Dolphins? And The Climate? And Cage-free Chickens? We recycled, we took cloth bags to the store so that plastic bags wouldnt make children in poor countries break out in hives, we cared about Darfur (whereEVER it is), we supported the troops (but not the mission, of course) so what did we Give-Peace-A-Chanceniks ever do to deserve THIS squalid painful day-to-day fight against dirt, hunger and disease?

Obama will not fail to install a class of ruthless, arrogant thugs at the top of society and they wont fail to lead the sheep into The New Age of...Poverty and Repression. It is always thus with socialism. The people who run it always succeed in crushing everyone else in the name of Fairness and with a false promise of free benefits. Only people completely blind to their own self-interests, who they are, how they got where they are, were things are going, what their rights are, what their moral and civic responsibilities are could have voted this coterie of miscreant, corrupt, stupid and proud-of-their-arrant-foolishness group of Al Frankenesque broken human beings into power. The middle class elected their own worst enemies and now they are going to have to pay with everything they ever thought they had a right to own. Every person contemptible enough to vote for a Barbara Boxer or an Al Franken or a Chuck Schumer or a Debbie Stabinow should hang their heads in eternal shame that they so carelessly threw away their lives because they didnt have the sense to realize you cant get something for nothing. The eternal promise of the con-man and indeed the foundation of all vice is the idea that there are no consequences for your actions. There are.

Every vote you ever made for ANY Democrat for ANY office brought you to this pass you pathetic losers. The mish-mash of junk science, junk-economics, moral vacuity, celebrity-worship and intellectual pretense without any spiritual depth has led you into a blind alley and put the most ruthless group of people in history, people who worship power, people whose Utopian savagery is a form of mental illness in charge of every molecule of your existence; or even whether you have an existence. The Rights Endowed By Your Creator were cancelled when you became too sophisticated to have a Creator and turned to The Daily Show for inspiration.

I dont care about myself, I want everybody who ever voted for a Democrat to SUFFER as their fat rich little existences are stripped away in the name of GREEN. I want the smug middle class certainty burned from their stupid brains. Yes, the smarter ones are starting to catch on...and we havent even fixed the weather yet... but the average dolts still havent put it together. And now its too late. I want them to remember the delicious food made by Evil Agribusiness on shows they saw on the Food Channel during the sunny Bush Years and weep as they gnaw the rock-hard crust of bread they were lucky to buy with their $400,000,000 daily Social Security check at the bleak, empty-shelved, government-run stores. You who chortled so coyly as Hugo called George Bush 'Satan' now richly merit getting your surgery-nipped noses rubbed in the Venezuelan Dream as you sit, unemployed and useless, shivering in the freezing shell of the SUV you used to drive before it became your domicile, you holistic half-wit! Dig the Feng Shui! There better be some Global Warming because if there's not your asp is gonna FREEZE! Hope and Change has got you in its talons you scraps of excess population greenhouse gas generating consumerist whacko soft brained dummies suckers chumps!

The odious Obamanoids, in their quest for brain-damaged Re-pyub-i-cans to give bi-partisan cover to their outrages against the Constitution, dredged up the 'dead man walking' Senator from the newly 'Blued' state of New Hampshire and offered him the cushy sinecure of Secretary Of Commerce. Now, Our First Black President (the always lovable BJ Clinton) appointed one of his many political bag-men, Ron Brown, to this laudable post. Brown's role at Commerce added up to directing revenue streams into the Clinton's many slush funds and offshore bank accounts. It seems that his self-respect and his trust for the Clintons was beginning to suffer when his incumbency was ended by a tragic plane crash in Bosnia, which no one suggests was engineered by The Clintons even though it served their purposes very nicely. Brown was replaced by the scrupulously honest (giggle, giggle) Bill Richardson. Commerce is just not a post for an honest man. In fact its a job for a mold-encrusted political hack on the make.

But if you cant find a mold-encrusted political hack on the make then pick a rural nudnick with an oddly-shaped skull named Judd. Since the Dems managed to change New Hampshire's voter registration laws to make it possible for anyone to show up on election day, swear that they intend to move to New Hampshire and register and vote that day the Republicans, who meekly allowed this travesty of the voting laws to be enacted, have become an endangered species in that underpopulated, mountainous sliver of New England.

So I guess the Dems looked at the oddly-shaped skull of this Judd and remembered that as a New Hampshire Republican he sat silently by while the voter registration laws in that state were turned into a joke and figured Judd was a bi-partisan, go-along-to-get-along kinda guy. They were probably genuinely surprised that he had objections to the President's Stalinist chief of staff reaching in to take effective control of the 2010 Census away from the Commerce Secretary so he could organize the counting under the political control of the Marxist zealots in the White House.

"So what?" you might ask. You just send the forms out and then collect them, right? Wrong. If you're a leftist nothing is ever that simple. You see, these guys have rejected the Newtonian arithmetical certainties of 'counting' American Citizens and replaced them with the truly Einsteinian concept of relative abstract formulization as you 'estimate' the number of the unfairly uncounted. In other words the leftists have determined that the Great Big Right-Wing Conspiracy has Conspired to undercount left-wing populations. Some would suggest that left-wingers are overcounting Right-Wing conspiracies.

Inventing fake voters to pad their 'majorities' in elections is long-time Democratic Party tradition. Boss Tweed, Richard Daley; the urban machines were always dominated by Democrats as were the rural precincts of the deep South and the halt, the lame, and the dead were an important part of the coalition. In a more modern mode we have seen close elections subjected to recount after recount. In each recount new votes for the Democrat are mysteriously 'found' and groups of ballots favoring the Republican candidate (such as absentee military ballots) are 'disqualified'. Al Gore, Chris Gregoire in Washington State, and the odious and unspeakable Al Franken in Minnesota all have disturbingly similar patterns pointing to a set of procedures that are triggered by close elections. The Republican's mistake is believing  that a sense of civic responsibility, decency and respect for the law lie behind the actions of their opponents.

So now the Dems want to tweak a few rotten boroughs filled with winos, schitzos and illegal aliens all casting an absentee ballot for the appropriate Demo candidate by 'estimating' how big those 'undercounted' populations. This from the same crowd who told us that there were millions of homeless and that they were formerly middle-class families driven into the cold by the heartless Reagan policies. Crowds of freezing, ragged wretches who decently disappeared when Bill Clinton was president and never seemed to reappear even in the Dark Night Of Bush. Where did these hundreds of thousands of homeless go?

They never existed. Sure there are homeless people out there. Tens of thousands of them. Millions? I guess one opinion is as good as another unless you actually count them. But thats the opposite of what is being proposed now. We are just supposed to assume that the number that the geniuses in Washington decide on is correct. So a bunch of people who have shown their contempt for the integrity of the electoral system are going to give us apolitical and non self-serving 'estimates' of populations where inflated numbers serve their political interests?

I just went to see the movie 'Frost/Nixon' and was struck by the vindictive, nasty quality of the fake outrage. If you compare Nixon to Clinton the contrast is stark. Nixon's misdemeanors appear furtive and petty compared to the brightly lit felonies of the Clintons. Its OK to lie, its OK to take bribes, its OK to use the IRS to persecute people you dont like, its OK to copy secret personnel files and then dump the information in the media when you're in trouble, its OK to trump up felony charges against innocent White House employees, its OK to hamstring police and intelligence agencies who might be concerned at the amount of money from foriegn governments you are receiving, its OK to attack foreign countries for domestic political purposes and its OK to lie under oath to a federal district judge in a sexual harassment case.

The Dems have gone along with it all. They've abandoned any concept of honor or decency. The law is a joke to them; especially the US Constitution. One of their current manias is a complete violation of the First Amendment. Government control is proposed for the internet and talk radio. The skunks who are seriously talking about this are the most loathsome group of thugs and apparatchiks who have reared their heads this side of Caracas. It shows their contempt for the law and their contempt for the rights of others. They dont want to be held to account for the results of their policies. They know how much people are going to have to suffer for their high-falutin social engineering schemes. They know they have to create rotten boroughs, stuff ballot boxes with phony absentee ballots, and stifle any criticism so they can remain in power when the standard of living starts to drop like a rock.

Twenty years ago I was watching some science talk show on which some techno-savant predicted with certainty that in two decades people would have hundreds! of channels to choose from. Unlike most of the 'experts' that one sees on TV this guy turned out to be right. But TV channels are like lovers, if you have too many the experience becomes shallow and empty.

So last night, after my wife said goodnight and dragged herself off to bed I grabbed the remote and began to channel surf away from the channel where the flambouyantly gay men mince and chortle while walls are painted bright colors and on which curtains are coyly referred to as 'window treatments'. I surfed past History International's disgraceful 'FDR', a four-hour hagiography of one of America's worst presidents featuring so-called 'historians' like the goggle-eyed leftist Robert Dallek and Dolores 'dont quote me on that' Kearns Goodwin. Even this slobber-fest admitted at the end of the first two hours that FDR couldn't run on his economic record in 1940 because his misbegotten socialist policies (not described as such by the show, of course) had completely failed to have any good economic effect. "How could this be?" they asked. The Beloved Franklin had tripled taxes, greatly increased government spending and added tons of regulations, so what had gone wrong? Hmmm....

Surfing on from this mendacious mess I came to one of those channels showing infomercials. You know, the kind where the pitchman stands up and the zombie-like members of the rapt studio audience ask him admiring questions that allow the huckster on the podium to pontificate on the wonderfulness of the product.

HEY WAIT! This is CSPAN and that's Barak Obama doing a presser! But the convoluted reasoning was so facile and ridiculous that it just seemed like an infomercial. Watching BHO explain how a trillion dollars of incredibly wasteful federal spending would improve the economy was like listening to the Ultra-Slim guy telling you how molecules of fat are adhered to the magic formula as it passes by the pancreas and are magically expelled, leaving you slimmer without diet or exercise. Convoluted and unconvincing to say the least but delivered with great aplomb by a smiling snake-oil salesman, supremely confident of his miracle product.

But that's the way con-men work. You promise the chumps something thats free and easy, no diet or exercise involved, and you use the willing clods in the studio audience, paid actors or in this case the sycophantic press corps, to help create a sense of urgency. Because in any con you dont want the chumps to have time to think about what they're doing. Its always super super urgent. Act NOW! before its TOO LATE! Operators are standing by!

I saw a good example of it yesterday afternoon as I watched The Change Agent flog the legislative merchandise in a benighted burg named Elkhorn, Indiana. What is the main industry in this rural backwater? They manufacture Winnebagos or motor homes or whatever those lumbering, road-blocking monsters are called. Actually the hybrid-driving hippies here in the wealthy silk-stocking district I live in (represented ably in Congress by Henry Waxman) have other names for these hulking vehicles but they are not printable. Suffice it to say that these ultra-libs, like all ultra-libs are well over America's love affair with the automobile (except for their own, of course). Now, this Obama guy has appointed Carol Browner, our country's leading foe of individual automobile ownership, as his environmental advisor. He represents a party which, even during last summer's fuel crisis, refused to even consider drilling for domestic oil, or exploring ways to extract oil from shale or allowing tar sand oil from Canada into the country. These guys hate the internal combustion engine.

Did that bother those morons in Elkhorn, Indiana? Nope. They were jumping up and down with glee that the stimulus bill was going to...do what? These eco-Stalinists are the sworn enemies of your community's main business you fat-faced fools! How much pork-barrel spending is it going to take to replace every job in your benighted city, you low-grade chumps? Where's the government going to get the money to do all that? Its not going to do all that. Its going to get the money to fund this and the many future monstrosities in the pipeline by printing it. There is no other way.

Thats because one particular group of suckers has been taking the amazing fat-stripping formula and are becoming concerned at the lack of results. We sometimes refer to these people as the 'international investment community'. Many of the most recalcitrant members of this community are also described as 'the Chinese Government'. These losers, already on the hook for hundreds of billions, are becoming nervous about this orgy of spending. They also are able to listen and clearly understand The Changeable One and take seriously his statement that this insane trillion-dollar nightmare of a pork-barrel spending bill is only the first of three! Three trillion dollars awarded by a pack of greedy, stupid, self-serving legislators to their friends and political cronies.

Its a recipe for total disaster. Now Obama is pushing the idea that this current contretemps is already a disaster. HA! You aint seen nothing yet. They blame Bush for the current mess, ignoring the role of the Democrats and the 'moderate' Repu-bi-cans in Congress (aka Stalinist flunkies). But there is much justice in the charge. The moribund Bush went along with every vote-buying, big government, party re-aligning scheme advanced by the cringing fatheads who inhabit the corpse of the Republican party, acquiesced in the sneaky trick which allowed the worst candidate in recent history to run at the head of that party whose rank-and-file despised his turncoat maverickosity and sat quietly and without complaint as the Dems completely dominated all political debate...leading to the election of this totally incompetent, empty- suited front man for Congressional rule.

It cant last forever. Listening to BHO's tendentious explanations of a bill he seemed to have no details of I wondered how long the lie can last, even in places as mentally incompetent as Elkhorn, Indiana. I listened to his twisted theories about how we can sit down with our Iranian friends and work out our differences and wondered how long it will take for our misunderstood Islamonazi peace partners to test their first nuke. They've already tested an intercontinental missile. Meanwhile this clown and his gawking cohorts just cut the missile defense system.

There will be a moment where this rhetoric will not work anymore, when the Elkhartians realize that they arent getting their old jobs back. Sure they'll get enough Food Stamps and unemployment insurance to keep them alive, the nationalized bank wont throw them out of their unheated house or the freezing Winnebago parked in the backyard, but it will be a cold, bleak substitute for the free, prosperous lives they threw away by voting this pack of socialist clowns into what probably will be permanent power. Post-industrial serfs in the New Dark Age Of Change.

Reading the classics is always rewarding. Just the other day I was reading 'I Claudius' and I read a really great line. It was where Claudius had just told Augustus power-mad, homicidal widow Livia that he wasn't allowed into the Senate session where Augustus was declared a god. Livia replied:

"They wont let me in because I'm an old woman and you because you're a fool but I always thought that the Senate was composed of nothing but old women and fools."

Now Graves probably lifted this line from Suetonius but this is the age of Dolores Kearns Goodwin so like, who gives a rat? The important point is when you compare this 2,000 year old remark with our current US Senate the premise of the statement still works.

Now dont be distracted thinking I might be some kind of sexist and that I'm referring to the likes of Barbara Boxer when I repeat a quote that describes some Senators as 'old women'. Nothing could be further from the truth. California's Trotskyite, mustachioed, dwarf (4' 9") Senator is not an old woman; she is an insane fool. The 'climate fixing' bill she is pushing will leave the non-Senatorial segment of the population of this country in grinding poverty for the rest of their lives when it passes.

'Old Women' is more apt in the case of those Senators, take Richard Lugar for example, who have neutered themselves in the face of the New Change Revolution and are eager to lend their bi-partisan imprimatur to leftist outrages like the one mentioned above. Didn't he vote for that Lilly Dinglehammer bill that opens up the last two centuries of employment to the litigation vultures in the name of gender pay equity? But as soon as the public caught on to the giant Congressional trillion-dollar stimulus swindle Lugar got cold feet and ran the other way, discovering a long-buried conservative streak in his trembling RINO heart. In fact I think I should apologize to regular old women, some of whom have more guts than anybody, that I had the nerve to use their proud appellation to refer to this sniveling girlie-man. Blame Livia, ladies, not me.

Meanwhile, below decks, Nancy and The Gang are beating the drum at a faster pace and whipping the hapless House Democrats, many only there as a result of Gerrymandering and ACORN phony ballots, to row at ramming speed toward the moribund wreckage of the US economy. While the Senators riot in alternating waves of panic and confusion up on the deck and Michele peels the seemingly detached BHO another grape in the Presidential Party Pad above the fray the direction is being determined by the completely ruthless Pelosi.

The extent of the Senate's ambitions was to propose the odiferous Uriah Heep of American politics, the slimy Tom Daschle, to be Commissar Of Health Care and Czar of HHS. What surer guarantee of fat consultancies and jobs for useless relatives of the Senatorial Class could there be? They didn't even notice that there was a giant conflict of interest caused by Daschle's $83,000 a month-type 'consultancies' with giant health-care conglomerates. They were genuinely shocked and outraged that anyone could question this guy's probity just because he 'forgot' to pay taxes on a few of his $83k paychecks (was he paid monthly or weekly?) and the chauffeur-driven limo that were thrown in for good measure. The overpaid and parasitic nature of the job itself would be bad enough to disqualify him in most people's eyes, let alone the unpunished tax evasion.

But what did he do wrong ask the Inside The Beltwanians? Isn't that what everyone in Washington dreams of? Its like people in Hollywood dream of getting $20 mil for six weeks of work on the set; with the screaming and the tantrums thrown in for free. Dont executives in every industry dream of the Big Bonus, the giant goose-egg of cash laid in their bank accounts regardless of company or personal performance?

But the Big O has the solution. Government wage controls. Its true, some people who read this blog before the election might be confused by my former conservative views but since then I've got my mind right. If the Lilly Dinglehammer Bill can open up all wages to de facto government control then lets do just that. Obama mentioned a $500,000 cap on all executive compensation and I'm backing him to the hilt! Lets strip those leftist foundations who managed to avoid parking their assets with Madoff of every penny in the name of equity. Lets level the morons who sucked up all this leftist rhetoric in college and thought that it applied to somebody else. At least poor people have the excuse that they're ignorant of the results of socializing the economy but that point is harder to make when you've got an MBA from Rutgers or Princeton.

"Listen, Meryl, bubbalah, I'd love to pay you 5 mill for your next flick, honest! But its against the law. Since you're in three films this year I can only offer you $165 thou..."

Those Hollywood dummies were the most fervent Bush-haters, the most zealous leftists, the most heartfelt Obama-enthusiasts and now Hollywood lays trembling in the path of a money-hungry State and Federal monster that will move to sack 'the Stars' obscene wealth in the name of equity like Alaric and the Visigoths looted the degenerate, wealthy ancient Romans. Lets use the $4.5 mil we dont pay to Meryl to help The Children.

This is just the beginning. A legislative wave of destruction more powerful than the tsunami that devastated Thailand and Sumatra is on the way to Obama's desk for his compliant signature. The Senate is currently 'fixing' the stimulus swindle by removing a couple of high-profile trivialities and larding it with a couplehundredbillion dollars more much-needed 'programs' and subsidies to those stumbling fools in left-wing advocacy groups and legal consultancies too slow-moving to get a line in the House bill. These shameless boneheads are presenting a picture of the most churlish selfishness and incompetence in a national emergency that could be conceived of; behaving as we always knew the Democrats would when they grabbed power. The snappy-suited doofus in the Oval Office is in on the swindle.

Thats ACORN-Democracy you chumps. And now its too late.
