Its nice to hear that no matter what happens in my sad little life I'm going to have Barak Obama and the community that is the American Government there to pick me up any time I fall flat on my stupid face. Its a nice feeling to know that every aspect of risk will soon be removed from my shaky (up to now) existence. At least thats the story.
Before BO came onto the podium he was introduced by Little Dick Durban; the Senator who compared our troops in Iraq to the Gestapo, Pol Pot and Stalin's thugs. And what did this New Age Patriot have to say about The Nominee? He compared Barak Obama's lack of experience to that of Abraham Lincoln. I've read a few books about Lincoln. Some of the most enduring and notable things about Lincoln were his incomparable mastery of the English language, his ironic wit, his incredible depth of feeling and empathy. To compare that whiny, jug-eared, self-obsessed, vapid, radical shrimp and his strung together pile of shopworn cliches to Lincoln was to invite a comparison that can only make Obama's admirers blush with shame. I myself was blushing with shame that a large group of my fellow citizens found this errant hogwash compelling.
We're going to eliminate our use of petroleum in ten years sez Obama. Really? Just exactly how is that going to happen? He quoted Thomas Edison to show that technical innovation was just a matter of will power. You see, Edison had gone to the local pols and gave them huge campaign contributions which caused them to go on a crusade against 'big kerosene'. Edison then got a law passed that mandated that everyone had to replace their kerosene lanterns with incandescent light bulbs in ten years. Congress gave Edison a gigantic subsidy to build a light bulb factory. It turned out, however, that the power plants and electrical transmission lines to implement this policy didn't exist but of course the 'jobs created' at the light bulb factory couldn't be ended so the enterprise continued as a dead loss for decades. Just like ethanol!
Just like medical care will be under Obama. But to get back to this gasoline business. Didn't Obama basically announce that he's going to take my car away? I dont see any alternative, unless its a moped that runs on ethanol. In ten years I'll be retired and I doubt I'll be able to afford a high-end, all electric vehicle like the ones the state will provide to its upper echelon employees.
Another thing mysteriously missing from Obama's speech was Climate Crap. I think he mentioned it once in a list of things that W had neglected but the sweeping, radical change in everyone's lifestyle that this phony 'crisis' will cause the government to enact wasn't trumpeted in this speech or any other one at this convention, except the pathetically, and increasingly obviously cracked Algore, of course. Too many factories are being shut down by the enviro-crazies for a party that is chasing blue-collar votes to play on too strongly.
The speech meandered on and on, far too long for something so blurry and undefined, in the style of Fidel or Hugo Chavez. Attempts by the crowd to chant 'Yes We Can' were noticeably scotched by Obama, whose advisers had read the Peggy Noonan column comparing this event with the 'Triumph Of The Will' Nuremburg rallies in 1936. 'Yes We Can' rhymes with 'Seig Hiel' if you chant it long enough; an image the Obamanoids really don't want to deal with.
The curious lack of a climax; the progressive falling off of energy levels that was noticeable in almost every speech at this dreary mess of a convention was noticeable again in this capper, headline speech. It went nowhere. There was no rousing clarion call that ended the speech in a hot wave of emotion. They wanted to invoke Martin Luther King with the cheesy set (which didn't work in any medium shots or close-ups. The set was only a recognizable image when the people on it were too small to be individuals.) but again Obama suffered mightily by the comparison. King always started slow and intimate, worked through his ideas clearly, with power and purpose, and then ended in a swelling crescendo that brought the speech to a point and drove it home, bringing the listener to tears. The squalid mish-mash of Obama's speech might have been stolen from Hillary Clinton; a laundry list of Bad Bushisms, phony personal tales of woe, and vague promises that all wounds would be healed and all wrongs righted. No final moment of truth, no calls to the angels.
And no calls for justice to 'immigrants'! In a speech filled with implied protectionism and filled with threats against greedy businessmen who export jobs the usual tender concerns for the rights of the 'undocumented' were missing; replaced with an angry threat to employers who lower American wages by hiring 'illegal aliens'!
So it seems the swing group in this election are blue-collar, working class types who have so far avoided Obama like the plague. That's why they've dropped the environmentalist claptrap, thats why Obama used the PC taboo term 'illegal alien' in his speech, that's why not one single black politician got any prime-time face time during the whole four days. The curious lack of energy is because the Dems are trying to sell a lie; we're Patriotic Americans who care about you. What nonsense.

Change You Can believe In! Like all good Stalinists the Democraps are now reaching into people's past to root out potential terrorists who are harboring incorrect thoughts. If you've embezzled some cash from Countrywide or planted a few bombs in public buildings, thats OK. The Obamanoids are not interested in petite-bourgeois economic crimes and attacks against AmeriKKKa are downright laudable! True counterrevolution is expressed now by being a Civil War buff. It seems that Jim 'Melonhead' Webb, a truly obnoxious liberal who ran for the Senate on the vile lie that there is such a thing as a Conservative Democrap, is being pilloried and eliminated as a Vice Presidential candidate for expressing thoughts which might be mistaken as sympathy for the Confederacy, an entity now pictured in PC history as a precurser to the National Socialist...er, I mean NAZI, regime in Germany (use of the term National Socialist is in itself a counterrevolutionary act as weak minds might confuse it with the Progressive Socialists who are on a crusade to save Our Planet from the predations of the Capitalist Octopus!). In later history books critters like Woodrow Wilson, who prayed for Confederate victory as a young boy, and any other deranged racist lunatic with similar views will have their biographies rewritten or expunged from history altogether to try to remove this evil stain on AmeriKKKa's bloody and oppressive past. Books like the infamous 'Gone With The Wind' will be burned, of course, along with those by racist reactionaries like Thomas Sowell. A friend of mine invited me to a Civil War reenactment once and I have to admit I put on the dreaded grey uniform but I have atoned; I've written down every un-PC statement I've ever heard from anyone I've ever met and will happily co-operate with the New Obama Stasi to imprison my reactionary acquaintances for the good of the planet. We should remember the emphasis on having a humble working-class background during the Stalin regime and also note that the intellectuals and elitists who were so instrumental in installing the bloodthirsty...er I mean... Progressive Socialist regime in Russia were ultimately destroyed in the Great Purge of the 1930s when it was realized that having 'progressive' views is only a front to hide a bourgeois class background in many cases . When dealing with the glassy-eyed Marxist fanatics...oh sorry, I guess I dont have my mind completely right...the Hope-filled Green Idealists who now make up the upper crust of the Democrap Party you should use Gulag Archipelago as a survival guide (keeping it well hidden behind copies of Noam Chomski and 'Audacity Of Hope' just in case the block supervisor should get the wrong idea about your views). Now with the beloved polar bear about to be wiped from the face of the Earth by greedy globalist capitalism we have to ruthlessly weed out these racist Confederate Kooks and give them the Free Medical Care in the form of electro-shock therapy (from windmill-generated renewable sources, of course) and huge doses of mind-bending anti-psychotic drugs that will make them, in the end, love Big Obama! There's a brewing controversy about Obama's minister The Right Rev Jeremiah Wright Jr and his crackpot ravings. The good Rev spins on with the usual, " Those evil white people keeping us brothers down" routine that has been spun so many times in the last forty years that it has become commonplace and boring. If Obama hadnt been an active member of his church the good Rev would have retired and sat on the St Patrick's Day revue stand with the mayor like any other local dignitary. The fact is that Obama is a grad of Columbia and got his law degree at Harvard. It must be nice for a guy who grew up in a white environment, who was then steeped in the Marxist broth of Columbia and Harvard to get in touch with a side of himself that had probably not gotten a lot of nurturing and be accepted wholeheartedly into the community. Does he share Reverend Wright's silly philosophy? Of course not. People with degrees from Harvard and Columbia have been trained, however, not to dismiss even the most irrational idiocy if it comes from the mouth of someone sufficiently ethnic or radical. An Ivy League education these days not only doesnt give you any critical abilities it attempts to destroy the critical abilities you might possess naturally. When the academic world abandoned morality in the 1920's and 30's so they could pay proper homage to Lenin and Stalin they lost the ability to judge truth from lies, sense from nonsense.
There are those that say Obama's ability to sit through the Rev Wright's sermons, or even be enthusiastic about them, means that he isnt qualified to be President.
Maybe so, but then doesnt that disqualify EVERY Democrat? Hillary Clinton was an associate of Saul Alinsky, an anti-American viper that makes Rev Wright look like the jovial crackpot that he is. Obama was an invisible extra in the Radical Movie, Hillary was not one of the stars but she was on screen an awful lot of the time. The Childrens Defence Fund was a repository of a much more radical agenda than The Trinity United Church Of Christ. Another big difference was that Rev Wright is just giving his observations on the way he sees things whereas The Children's Defence Fund has a social, political, legal, legislative agenda to actively make this country into a different kind of society than we are; an agenda that springs from the same kind of contempt for America that motivates Liberal Arts and Humanities professors in a school like Columbia or The Trinity United Church Of Christ. The Democrats are the party that sees America as bad and wrong and that should be the issue not whether Hillary or Obama is more radical then the other. The issue should instead be the underlying philosophy of the Democratic Party and what their erroneous ideas are doing to this country. That should be the only talking point. If we dont overthrow their vision then we will become subjugated by it. It might be too late already, people seem to have lost the ability to relate their high taxes and the increasing cost of the Global Warming lunacy to the accelerating slide in the standard of living. They're yelling for more," Get rid of the evil conservatism of Bush!" Our guys dont respond by yelling back "Get rid of the evil social fascism of the Dems!" because, guess what, the people in charge of the Republican Party learned in the Ivy League schools the went to (sitting next to the Dems they now work with) to be quiet and submissive, to prevaricate, to compromise, to be reasonable while their leftist colleagues were goaded to be ever more radical. If they didnt stand up and yell, "What the hell is this CRAP!?" in Ward Churchill's 'America The Enemy Of Humanity 101' class when they were young and frisky why should we expect them to do it now that they are old and have a stake in the system?
I guess the only logical conclusion to this is that the slide to disaster is unstoppable because the people at the top, one and all, seem to have lost sight of the most elemental common sense and are pursuing a course whose end is well known to the isolated and dwindling readers of the the works of the Old Dead White Men which were banished from the Ivied Halls Of Academe in the Glorious Revolution of the 1960's. The only question left is Bang or Whimper?
