If my father was alive today he'd roll over in his grave. How did I go so far astray? I guess it was that first Civil War reenactment. Georgia Infantry. You know, the slavery guys. That was my gateway drug but who ever would have thought...I didnt even recognize how sick I had become until that nice Senator Whitehouse laid it all out. And this guy is really cool, too! I used to go to his website, Whitehouse.com. I mean the chicks on that site would do anything! But I guess being up to his elbows in freaky porn 24/7 did something to his brain and turned him anti-social. He quit being a respectable pornographer and now he's the Democratic Senator from Rhode Island. Sorry Mr. & Mrs. Whitehouse, maybe your other kids turned out honest.

But, whatever, this dude might be misguided but he's plenty smart! You see, after I went to that Civil War reenactment I went to a Tea Party. Now, in between these two events I voted for John McLame so I figured that I was just as much of a commie as anybody else. I mean, I even recycle! Well, my wife makes me, but I'm saving the planet just as much as the Greenest of the Green. You know, when Copenhagen happened I tried really hard not to laugh. Well, not that hard. I missed Barry's Nobel Speech. I figured if he said anything memorable people would remember it and tell me about it but nobody ever mentioned it so I guess watching 'Rotten Tomatoes' on Algore's Current Network was a better choice after all. That level of apathy and ignorance would qualify me as an Obama Voter, wouldnt it? So I figured I was cool.

But Thoughtcrime is insidious, it creeps in and turns you into a counterrevolutionary without you even knowing it. I was hanging out with some of my Tea Party friends, few and far between in this neck of the woods, and just for a joke we were kidding around about how Obama and the Democrats were wrecking the country and spitting on the Constitution...I mean those guys are a crack-up, they'll say anything for a laugh. Anyway Troxl, a huge blond Viking of a man looked off into the not too distant future that we only have to march towards over the bodies of our subhuman enemies and said, "Hey guys, wouldnt it be fun to do a World War Two reenactment?"

"Wunderbar!" said Hendrick, wiping an errant hank of hair back from his forehead and crossing his arms forcefully, "We can be the SS Totenkopfverband Division!" It all seemed so innocent. We would put on our black uniforms, drink imported beer (from guess where?), taking care not to spill any on our swell armbands, and talk about Health Care and pass around the literature that we downloaded off those hip insurance company websites while we converted our AR-16s to full auto. You know, just hanging out with the guys.

Then, there it was, The Truth, so obvious, so powerful. Sheldon Whitehouse, genius, savant, a man whose vision and insight were spotted and harnessed by those wise Rhode Island voters tells it like it is...

OMG! He's so right! That nice little old lady I talked to at that Tea Party about the Constitution, she was like a Nazi or something. Those Aryan types are mighty crafty. They seemed like struggling small business people and disillusioned working class types to me, people afraid for their future and anxious to preserve their freedom. Most of them werent even blond and they left their armbands at home to fool guys like me into thinking they were legitimate protesters. Dang! I've been hanging out with a bunch of Nazis the whole time and I didnt even know it! If these critters find out that my father was Jewish they might turn me into a lampshade or something!

One thing kind of gets me about Senator Whitehouse, though. He was speaking after all of him and his left-wing buddies voted in perfect lock-step to pass a HealthScare Bill that was locked in Uraih Heep Reid's office, unread by anyone, in a party-line vote in the dead of night. Whats he got against us disgruntled fringe elements anyway? We're powerless. You'd almost think that the emissions from guys like him were warming up the political atmosphere so much that the mandate that his party lied its way into was melting in a hot sea of voter anger. No, that's not true, the New York Times says everybody still loves Obama deep down but they're just cranky that he's not far enough to the left. Uh-huh.

But for a party that now has its victory those Dems arent celebrating very much, are they? The blatant purchase, with money borrowed from the Chicoms or printed up fresh by the Federal Reserve, of the votes of three of the most nauseating hypocrites ever to disgrace any public office was enough to make anyone gag. Even Dianne Sawyer's botoxed skin-mask wrinkled a little on that one. Ben Nelson reminds me of a big fat dog I had once that got sprayed by a skunk and then wanted to come in the house to get to his food bowl, his face twisted with greed but trying to be ingratiating as he reeked like a ripe corpse. Blanche Lincoln looks like the harrassed woman from down the street who would show up with a bunch of bruises to have coffee and would tell my mother, "Harry says I dont listen too good..." Mary Landfill looks like the cheerleader that the football players used to get sloppy drunk after every game and drag into the showers. She has that same demented leering grin pasted onto her face that doesnt quite hide her political nymphomania. What a bunch of losers! My skunk-sprayed dog had more moral fiber than all sixty Demo Senators put together. In fact I should apologize to Cooper for comparing him to Al Franken or Chuck Schumer.

Loser numero uno has to be the aptly named Joe Loserman. Skunks take one whiff of him and run the other way. Remember during the impeachment trial in the Senate when they announced solemnly that Loserman was going to make a speech that would burn that nasty BJ Clinton to the ground, and what a lot of phony-baloney pious hot air it turned out to be? Well, that time he peed on anybody dumb enough to think he wasnt just as much of a commie as all the rest of the Demos. Just like he did again this week.

Well, at least Whitehouse set me straight on this opposition to Health Scare. I told those guys that I wasnt going to be a part of their racist cabal anymore and to take back those Friedrick Von Hayek hate manuals and all those Milton Freidman and George Gilder hate books for the next big book burning and count me out. I feel clean now. I can recycle with a happy heart. Well, not completely happy; before I quit they were going to make me an Unterscharfuhrer!

I'm the kind of a nerd that rewatches my dvds of 'I Claudius' on a regular basis. I'm a classic History Channel geek. I'm not allowed the have the Military Channel on the TV in the living room until my wife goes to bed. This armchair general retreats when confronted with an adversary that tough. Like a whole bunch of other people I've encountered in my life I've read hundreds of books, fiction and non-fiction about history. I can always tell when someone does the same. Its like an underground. We discover each other.

You see, people shun us. We like to talk about the first day of Gettysburg, the Flavian Emperors, the Coolidge Administration and the fighting in the Iron Triangle. The books by the Old Dead White Guys, long banned and forgotten by the educators who run our schools, lefties all, are some of our favorite books. I was being invited to a Civil War reenactment by one of my friends and noticed the look of absolute shock on the face of a thirty year old colleague who blundered in to the conversation. It was as if we were proposing a unicyle race down Wilshire Boulevard at rush hour clad in red satin clown suits with propeller beanies on our heads. This person, possessing a bachelor's degree from a leading university, when asked to guess when the Civil War occurred was fifty years off in her guess. Anything that happened before the Berlin Wall fell was a complete mystery to her. An Obama voter.

When we History Geeks get together we do engage in some odd practices. We whip out our 'context' and we compare the present with the past. We apply the knowledge that we didnt get a degree for, the stuff that we learned because we were curious and interested in more than the most immediate local things that affect us directly, to what is going on now. To the non-history person the past is just formless nostalgia, but to us the monetary crisis that preceded the French Revolution is relevant. Very relevant.

Just the other day I was working with 'I Claudius' playing on the dvd player on my desk and there came the scene where Tiberius has discovered that Sejanus, the commander of the gaurd, was plotting to murder him. His nephew Caligula presents him with a solution and he glows with joy.

Dont you kind of picture George W Bush saying something like that as he watched that poisonous spider of an Obama paralyze the opposition and creepy-crawl towards the fat fly of the Presidency? Because, whether you're a history geek or not George W Bush is looking better and better in the rear view mirror with his 4.5% unemployment and his $250 billion dollar deficit. Yeah, he started coming unglued when Nutsy Pelosi and Harry 'Uriah Heep' Reid took over the Congress but Bush at his absolute worse towers over that utopian pipsqueek who weaves his webs in his Shelob's Lair of an Oval Office.

Bush had more class. He was smarter. He was better read. He had better manners. I was always angry at him politically but there was one thing you could never fault Bush on; that giant monstrosity that is the Federal Government ran like a top. The proof of that is the phony Katrina-mania. Somehow the cowardly Mayor weeping and having a nervous breakdown and the confused and panicked incompetent Governor in a state of paralysis as the mighty storm approached was turned into a crusade against Bush, the head of the only sector of the government that functioned as it was supposed to. They needed that propaganda 'scandal' because they couldnt find any real ones in the Bush Administration. The boring drabs in the W Administration did their jobs without incurring a raft of investigations and felony charges. The Clinton and now Obama Administrations are a different story.

The incompetence and malfeasance of this bunch of greedy, shameless amoral leftists is sickening. Their open support of ACORN, a criminal organization devoted to subverting our electoral and economic systems says it all. They even pretended to defund it and then reinserted the refunding into an unrelated bill. The pious Green Obamunists oppose offshore oil drilling...unless its a subsidy for a Soros-dominated group to drill off the coast of Brazil. That doesnt wreck the climate.

If you look back on my blog you will see that my early criticisms of Obama were based on the fact that he was an empty suit. His answers in the first debates were laughable. Even surrounded by ignoramuses of the first water (Biden, Clinton, Dodd) his answers were startling in their vacuity. The Empty Suit. He has no skills or talents of any kind. His overrated speaking skills have shown to be completely ineffective as the HealthScare legislation stalls and dissolves into chaos. His leadership skills are so lacking that he has bet all his political capital on one issue and then turned the execution of that issue completely over to Nutsy Pelosi and Harry 'Uriah Heep' Reid. He's a Nobel Prize winning joke all over the world. He wasnt a joke during the campaign but he is now.

Imagine the happiness of W! His predecessor was a gushing redneck speed liar responsible for the Fannie-Freddie disaster who had a well-publicized case of Satyriasis and his successor is so completely inept that even his attempts to destroy the country are failing in a political trainwreck that looks like it might take the entire Democratic Party down with him. The Dems can use all the doubletalk they like to explain away yesterday's electoral meltdown but it was a strong, angry vote of no confidence in the current course.

The incredibly disappointing loss in NY23 should make the rebels against Obamunism stop and consider whether their approach was too strident to have any appeal in fervently blue states. The Obamunist juggernaut has not been derailed. It has been stalled on the tracks. If Obama had any leadership skills he would be out, as Bill Clinton would have been, proclaiming total victory with a smile and a knowing wink. But that crowd-pleasing chicanery is far from the soul of Mr. Teleprompter; it came natural to BJ Clinton. The spokesholes are out spinning that 'the voters still want change' but a line like that only works when El Presidente says it right into the camera with a devilish smile that lets us know he doesnt think we're that stupid, that lets us all in on the joke.

Thats good damage control but thats all BJ boiled down to, damage control. Damage control is easy when you have a Congress that is cutting capital gains taxes and balancing the budget, when unemployment is low and inflation is 2%. Barry has a tougher job of spinning. His line blaming Bush has worn thin. Its a sign of how clueless the Obamunist Radicals are that they dont get that people want to know what the hell they are doing that will reingnite the economy. Or why they keep hearing that the Obamunists dont want to reignite the economy. The reality of the anti-business, anti-consumer, anti-capitalist rhetoric emerging from the elitists in the administration and Congress is starting to sink in.

So W can sit back on his ranch and watch with glee. The annoying, unwashed protesters have all gone away, to camp out in front of Nutsy Pelosi's office because she's not far enough to the left. W wont have to worry about his legacy. We havent seen the worst of Obama by any means. This could even be the end of a Golden Age and the beginning of an age of sloth and decline. Historians will point to the misguided direction taken by Obama, not Bush. The joke is on us.

The collection of the corniest, most hackneyed proverbs, the ones that make you smack your forehead when they emerge from the mouth of some dummy, is actually a collection of the accumulated wisdom of mankind. After all, most of the 'correct' ways to behave are well known. You shouldn't need a ton of Bible study to know that the stuff in the Ten Commandments isn't religion but just plain common sense. Easy to say, harder to follow, but undeniably true.

There might be some relativist arguments that say its OK to steal (or make your victim 'pay his fair share') or people who aver that elephants occasionally forget things and that a stitch in time might not save nine but there's one time-worn cliche that defies any argument. It goes like this; The Democratic Party is addicted to insane levels of spending, has a pathological fear of criticism, despises private enterprise, looks on the US Constitution as an unfair restraint against necessary government expansion, hates small business and working class white people and in foreign policy is ready to suck up to any anti-American dictator, now matter how hostile or bloodthirsty, as long as the label 'progressive' is attached.

The truth of this old shopworn cliche is proven daily. If the evidence that carbon emissions cause global temperatures to rise was as strong as the evidence that the cliche about the Democrats is true I'd be out demonstrating in the streets for more windmills and fewer oil refineries. But while there is no empirical evidence to support the assertion that carbon emissions cause temperatures to rise (carbon levels have risen for a decade as temperatures have declined) there is ample evidence, evidence that jumps out to bite you, that every word of that cliche about the Democrats is as true as if it had been written in fiery letters of gold across the sky by the hand of God.

What empirical evidence? Barry's embarrassment of a speech to the United Nations is Exhibit A. I wept. Remember that photo of the Frenchman weeping as the German National Socialists drove their Soviet-fueled tanks down the Champs Elysee in 1940? That was me as I listened to Barry's speech. Who voted for this jug-eared Marxist hyena? I might understand how there could be some half-wits wandering around in the smog who might not be aware that the entire course of human history is an unending record of one nation dominating another. If you work behind the register at 7-11 you can live your life quite happily even though you are so shockingly uninformed. Ignorance is bliss (another cliche) especially if it allows you you retain your cretinous grin while the ACORN worker helps you fill out your absentee ballot and hands you a jug of cheap wine and a carton of ciggies to reward you for doing your civic duty.

While not knowing the story of human history is unfortunate in a retail clerk its a bit more disturbing in a President. And a Congress. And a State Department. And a Press Corps. And a Financial Community. It seems that the 'best and the brightest', the people who have spent twenty years in the most exacting academic environments are as stupid as the guy behind the register at Quickie-Mart. You get what you pay for? Thats one cliche thats as true as the melting polar ice caps, which is to say demonstrably untrue. Two hundred thousand plunked down as admission to the Ivory Tower and look what it gets you, an economic adviser, Laura DeAndrea Tyson-Chicken, who did her doctoral dissertation on the economic glories of Ceausescu's Romania. How is it possible to be that stupid? Did she go there? She must have taken a cab from her hotel to a conference or something. She cant have walked down the street in Bucharest. The stewards of great economies are rarely hauled up against the wall and shot by an angry mob of their starving citizens. And the morons on the committee who didnt burst out laughing when presented with this pean to a poverty-stricken Stalinist hellhole surrounded by barbed wire and crawling with secret police but who then awarded this genius a doctorate, what a pack of grinning idiots they had to be! The janitor who mopped out the conference room was smarter than these pedigreed buffoons.

Yesterday we were confronted with the Primus Inter Pares ( first among equals, in case you have a degree from Berkeley) of a class of total morons, steeped in the noxious broth of political correctness and who now have total power. We live the nightmare of a nation that has abandoned its traditions and the commitment to human freedom and individual dignity that has made it the greatest nation ever to have existed in human history, the birthplace of an industrial technology that has the potential to free mankind from misery and want, in favor of a baleful ignorance that threatens to plunge the entire world into a new Dark Ages. The sheer folly of the Emperor Honorius, the leader who stripped the Roman Empire of its defenses, taxed it into poverty and alienated all its allies, is evident in the words and actions of Barry & Co.

They dont know anything about science or logic so their belief in the planetary catastrophe that our incandescent light bulbs will cause doesnt seem at all irrational to them. They dont know anything about history, geography or anthropology so when someone says that nations will all get together at the UN and learn to get along happily that sounds pretty good. This blank gang of award-winning 'A' student leftists are so woefully ignorant of economics that they yearn to dismantle an economic system that is the only way to sustain the world population at current levels. They can aver, with a straight face, that the way to make something like medical care cheaper and more effective is to remove the profit motive and turn it over to a gang of unionized, salaried bureaucrats. Well, it worked for the schools.

We who actually know something about history and humanity can only look on this with absolute horror in the same way that we watched the Clintons take huge bribes from a hostile Red China. But this is worse. The Clintons, even in their empty misguided Yale-educated craniums, knew that they couldnt truckle too blatantly to the monstrous dictators in China. Barry sees himself as a saviour on a crusade to make AmeriKKKa's chickens welcome as they come home to roost. He crawled and demonstrated his contempt for his country so much that when Khad-daffy-Duck, the bloodthirsty socialist and Robert Downey Junior look alike, came out with a speech with lines so laudatory of Our Barry that one almost imagined that it actually was Robert Downey Junior speaking, it was hardly a surprise. Neither was Khad-daffy-Duck's sneering insincerity as he delivered these praises. He was mocking our country, which he hates with all his angry soul, by playing on our simple-minded leader's vanity.

Faced with ruin our course of action is clear. The million people who showed up on The Mall to defeat Barry's expropriation of the medical industry have shown us the way. We all have to show up, be activists. If anyone who would vote against this madness says something like, "my vote doesnt count, they're all the same!" it is our duty to make sure they go and vote. The Republicans might not be a walk in the park but could you imagine, in your wildest dreams, of John McCain giving an anti-American speech like the one we heard yesterday? Would he have threatened Israel and encouraged Iran? Even the most liberal Republican is not going to go to Washington and vote to make Nutsy Pelosi (she's saving the planet!) Speaker Of The House. These Democrats are a menace and threaten the survival of tens of millions of people.

You think I exaggerate? I live in California, my friend. The enviro-Democrats have used the Endangered Species Act and the courts to choke off the water supply not only to the city that I live in but to the farms in the San Joaquin Valley which produce 12% of this country's agricultural products. The Governator has gone to Washington to plead with the enviro-Democrats to relent. The answer is no! 40,000 farmers are starving, their productive farms choked with tumbleweeds as Barbara Boxer, the poisonous Marxist dwarf who the dopes in this state vote for because she's good at spending public employee union slush-fund money to smear her opponents and the slimy Di-Fi block any attempt to open the taps. Today California tomorrow Iowa and Nebraska. AmeriKKKa's pesticide-riddled profit-center farms are an affront to Mother Gaia! I read that in a book by a professor at Brown University so it must be true. Lets nationalize food production like in the Ukraine in 1933. It'll be real Green.

Regrettably, more Earth-friendly farming methods might cut actual output by 90% but because we will abandon the carbon-spewing tractors and steel implements that the greedy capitalists used to make their obscene profits there will be plenty of 'green' jobs available poking the ground with a sharpened stick and placing a couple of seeds in the hole. You dont need a car to commute to that job from your Earth-friendly hut on the edge of the feild. The planet will take an even bigger step towards greenness as the excess billions who live on our greed-driven food exports bond with the depleted soil and reenter the biochemical cycle of life. The Furbush Lousewort will be saved from extinction. Not so the excess Nigerians.

So lets steal a cliche from the commies. This one was uttered by Joe Hill, as they were leading him to his execution for murder. He was said to have remarked, "Dont mourn, ORGANIZE!" Its time to drop all of our differences in the face of this menace. Anyone, pro-life or pro-choice, Ron Paulian, Pat Buchananite, libertarian dreamer, bloated capitalist, Ayn Rand objectivist, flat-taxer, country club RINO, effete Neo-Con intellectual or rough-edged gun enthusiast, whoever you hate, whoever embarrasses you to stand next to is your brother if they stand with you against this dangerous pack of Stalinists. Our survival is more important than our differences. There are NO moderate Democrats. They are ALL a menace to humanity and we have to do whatever we can to stop them. Yes We Can.

Well, President Barry is slinking back from Marxists Vineyard to try it one more time. The fact that he is going to do a couple of speeches to 're-introduce' what turned out to be a total political disaster shows what a clueless megalomaniac he is. One of the political forefathers of Obamunism, Joseph Stalin, used to describe actions like this as 'like laying poultices on a dead man'. It shows you how sagacious Stalin was in not only describing the futility of Obama's political strategy but also describing what the health care system will be like if the Obamunists get their Marxist hands on it.

But not even a miracle will save this gaggle of hapless leftists from their political doom. They looked on the demise of Fat Teddy as just such a miracle but they didnt even get a bump in the polls from the Liberal Lion's well-hyped kicking of the bucket because their opponents were able to point out that Fat Teddy received a whole lot better care under the Senate health plan than he would have if he had been subjected to ObamaCare. Obamacare would have driven him off the bridge muy pronto and saved the resources so they could hire a few more paper-shufflers to process his death forms while he gasped for air. Here Ted, have a pain pill! The English newspapers talking about four thousand women having babies in the corridors or bathrooms of the overcrowded NHS hospitals and the deliberate killing of terminal patients in some of those same hospitals, spread by sites like the Drudge Report, cant have helped the Obamunists calm the fears of the AARP-tards in this country.

The fact is the Democrats are suffering from the results of their deceitful electioneering of last year, or should I say the last seventy years. 'We're not crazy leftists, we're moderates!' goes the line. Of all the lies the Obamunists tell, and the catalog of their mendacity is fatter than the Manhattan phone directory but with smaller print, that is the most outrageous. But with the help of a bum-crawling media that would pass muster in North Korea or Cuba while still considering itself 'objective' the Dems have been able to spin that lie for decades. The Republiclowns have lent a hand by their own lie, that they are conservatives instead of a gaggle of larcenous cronies of overinflated corporations headed by people so inept and so larded with bureaucracy and waste that they might as well be run by the government.

Obamunism triumphed in a rosy-tinged glow of 'Hope And Change'. He only had one or two stump speeches. If you watched CSPAN during the election Obama was the most boring candidate ever to take the national field, never progressing from his vague chicanery to explain who he is or what he would do. He was lucky in his opponents; the screeching harridan ex-wife of a philandering liar leaving a slimy trail of crooked Chinese cash behind her as her slug-like campaign oozed across the landscape and the senile old duffer who won the nomination by a political shell game and who incoherently led a party whose grass roots hated his guts. The Republiclowns were so uninviting that many people just stayed home while the Marching Morons, giddy on the political nitrous oxide of Hope And Change, danced to the polls to give Barry their love and to give more of that love to the Democrat 'moderates' further down the ballot.

But here we are, only nine months later, with Obama's poll numbers lower than whale poop and the numbers of the Democraptic Congress in the same fish-tank with his. His Commissar of Green Jobs has been forced to resign because of his crackpot, racist, left-wing, Jeremiah Wright-like babbling. The Science Commissar has been revealed to have written a book advocating forced sterilizations and abortions and the elimination of people too old to contribute to the coffers of the state. Barry's Secretary Of Energy wept fat fulsome tears and brought down curses on the Deniers who would dare to oppose the Obamunists' economy-crushing Crap On Trade bill on the selfish grounds that it would plunge the entire country into a Tanzania-like poverty. The newly-empowered class of regulators wants to bully everyone in every way, from telling us to replace our cheap, harmless light bulbs with expensive poison-filled ones, to telling us what kind of food to eat or beverage to consume. These cretins want to replace oil drilling, coal and nuclear power with a few million windmills and solar panels. 24 karat idiots, the lot of them; and totalitarian bullies to boot.

But there is only one real issue. Its the economy stupid. They've been bragging about how different they are from the horrible Bushies. But where's the beef? The official lying Obamunist figures admit to ten percent unemployment but other calculations, based on underemployment and number of hours worked, tell a much sadder story. The blaming of the Bush Administration is still going on but these guys passed a trillion-dollar Porculous Bill and have been pouring money into the system through the Federal Reserve's 0% lending rate, halting the slide for the moment but storing up much bigger problems for the future.

The not-too-distant future. As government spending has skyrocketed there has been a corresponding plunge in revenues. Crises in Medicare and Social Security which had been comfortably relegated to 'the out years' have been moved closer by the plunging revenues into the 'in' years. Like next year. There is nothing that will stop the coming tidal wave of inflation; the usual remedy of jacking up interest rates not being an option in an economy that is already broken. The housing crises that brought this mess on was based on the Clinton-Frank scheme in the 90's to issue worthless mortgages to people who couldnt pay them back in a million years. The coming crises will be based on the US government issuing worthless bonds that cant be paid back in a million years and then creating more phony money to 'monetize' the debt. This viciously anti-business administration and the predatory tax-addicts running most state and local governments make any economic recovery and rise in revenues totally impossible. When people talk of hyper-inflation they always point to Germany in the 1920's but that isnt a good model. A better one is Mexico in the 1980's. The same anti-business, high-tax, anti-freedom socialist policies that we are putting in place here were in place there. The Venezuelan economy, the one that got such applause at the Venice Film Festival this weekend as that insanely boring totalitarian puke of a filmmaker Oliver Stone unveiled his hagiography of the Marxist thug Chavez, is awash in the same poverty and inflation that these policies always cause.

So Barry can go on TV like Billy Mays (why did he die?) and tub-thump for BarryCare but it wont do him any good. The magic is dead and laying poultices on it wont bring it back to life, as Founding Father Joe so aptly said. Some new Commissar will be revealed saying some even more outrageous slanders against this country, the unemployment numbers will rise, the deficit, already quadrupled under Obamunism, will quadruple again. Nutsy Pelosi will insist on adding political poison pills to the Health Care bill that will enrage even more people. Crap On Trade will wend its way into law. Until Barry sacks Axelrod and Emmanuel, with their giggling joy not to waste a disaster, his numbers will head for oblivion and he'll take the rest of the Democraptic liars down with him. The country, which had forgotten the Carter mess, will be inoculated against this utopian stupidity until a new gullible generation arises to follow another Messiah over the cliff and once again AmeriKKKa's Chickens Will Come Home To Roost!

In 1945 an ailing president, who never should have been elected to a fourth term, negotiated a treaty at Yalta that betrayed our British allies and turned over to a dictator who was as brutal as Hitler half of a continent. Stalin, who had proven himself a craven coward in his negotiations and alliance with Hitler had no fear of the capitalist democracies. FDR was more concerned about British colonialism than he was about the ten percent of Eastern Europe who would be shipped east into the gaping maw of the Gulag. In fact, FDR and most Democrats at the time saw Stalin as a benign progressive ally. They had the same lack of belief that the Gulag existed as they had about Hitler's death camps. FDR never did one single thing or uttered one word of protest about either. FDR had ignored Stalin's mass murder in the countryside during the collectivization drive of the early thirties, the mass arrests in the cities in the late thirties and the alliance with Hitler.
The Yalta Treaty was a day of national humiliation for a nation that had the only viable economy in the world and was near to testing nuclear weapons. It cost us a half-century of Cold War.

Sixteen years later our country had elected an amphetamine-popping magazine-ad pretty boy
with no experience doing anything substantial because of an impressive PR campaign orchestrated by his gangster father. The first response from Nikita Khrushchev to the election of this hapless effete Harvard weakling was to build a wall between East and West Berlin, an action he wouldnt dare take during Eisenhower's tenure. JFKs response was to fly to Berlin and announce that he was a doughnut. That cringing weakness encouraged the thug Khrushchev, who had been one of the clique of gangsters who had murdered their boss when it looked like he was going to conduct a purge against them, to become more aggressive and build bases for nuclear-tipped missiles ninety miles away from us in Cuba. The Air Force wanted to bomb the sites before they were operational. That was too much for a weakling like JFK. He ordered the Navy to board the missile-carrying ships and turn them around. In the subsequent negotiations he traded the removal of US missiles from Turkey for the Soviet removal of the one's in Cuba. We've been hearing about this humiliating show of weakness for the last half-century, presented as the sole triumph of our fallen Martyr.

But the fallen Martyr was replaced by LBJ, a protege of FDR who dreamed of a new New Deal, The Great Society! The mess the Kennedy brothers had created in Vietnam by conniving in the assassination of the strongman Diem slowly exerted a gravitational pull. Johnson dithered. The NVA and VC didnt respect the borders of Laos and Cambodia but LBJ did. He always shrank from strong measures, thinking he could bribe Ho Chi Minh into a negotiated settlement. When the VC emerged from their ratholes to be slaughtered in the Tet Offensive Johnson ignored his military, who wanted to follow up their victory and end the war, and instead listened to the wimpish sniveling of Walter Cronkite and the rest of the peacenik media and ordered the army to go on the defensive while he dropped out of the presidential race, called a bombing halt and pleaded for negotiations. That speech that he gave that day in March was another national humiliation, unnecessary and unearned, throwing away victory in a storm of self-pity and cowardice fomented by another Democrat.

How can I catalog the humiliations of the Carter Years? There are so many! The Canal given away? The soulful kiss to Brezhnev in Vienna as they signed a Salt II treaty that guaranteed Soviet superiority in Europe? His refusal to stop the Cubans in their invasion of Katanga? His endorsement of the Soviet-run bloodbath in the Horn Of Africa? His cringingly weak response to their seizure of Afghanistan? No, when I think of Jimmy The Jerk I see him cringing, trembling in the White House, cowed by a tenth-rate Middle Eastern country who had violated international law by taking everyone in our embassy there hostage. He could have announced a B-52 strike to level the holy city of Qom in seventy-two hours unless the hostages were released. The mullahs had just purged the Air Force of all their Palevi-oriented pilots (all of them) and had NO defenses of any sort. Instead of demanding the hostages at the point of a gun Jimmy The Jerk decided, after months of hand-wringing, to steal the hostages back from the mullahs. I remember the humiliation that I felt as the sad story of our failed 'rescue mission' was related on the news. It was a humiliation our entire country felt.

You could say that Ford sitting idle while the NVA violated the Paris Peace Accords was such a moment but his hands were tied by a Democrat-dominated Congress determined to hand the South Vietnamese over to slavery and death. Reagan not responding to the attack in Beirut and Bush 41's refusal to destroy the Republican Gaurds, both at the behest of Colin Powell, were equally humiliating but both of those presidents had shown the will and the nerve to stand up for our country's interests in most other areas and Reagan rebuilt the military after the years of Congressional rule under the weaklings Ford and Carter.

With BJ Clinton it was back to the national humiliations we have come to expect of Democrats. These arent misjudgments taken in response to bad advice like those of Reagan and Bush, these are conscious decisions taken because their knowledge of the nature of reality is flawed. The Clintonoids included a top economic adviser who did her doctoral dissertation lauding the economic system of Ceausescu's Romania. Clinton bugged out of Somalia after eighteen Rangers were killed as a result of his trying to conduct that operation on the cheap and in tandem with the incompetent UN. He refused to take custody of Bin Laden when the Sudanese offered to deliver him to US custody. His 'response' to the embassy bombings in East Africa was so ineptly done and was so obviously driven by his need to divert attention from his committing perjury on national television that it enters the list of national humiliations along with BJ and The Little Woman openly taking bribes from the Chicoms. The Great BJ humiliation moment is when he stood in Tienanmen Square, scene of a bloody massacre by the People's Liberation Army of people demanding basic political rights, with his hand over his heart as that same People's Liberation Army marched past.

But then there was Bush. He was forced by events to stand up for his country. His reward from the Democrats was rage. He was compared to Hitler. He was said to have lied to invade a completely innocent nation that was no threat to us or our interests. The Islamonazi opponents of our country were invited to left-wing universities and lauded, even ones who openly admitted oppressing women and executing homosexuals. Even if you take the clownish attempts by Condi to roadmap the blood feud between the Arabs and the Israelis Bush actually had a fairly strong foriegn policy. He refused to participate in the idiocy of Global Warming, an attempt to hobble the industrialized countries and transfer wealth to the developing world.

But today our national humiliation is back on track. Our President has made a speech in Cairo that should make everyone stupid enough to have voted for a back-bench do-nothing first term Senator, a radical who spouts the most errant nonsense as though it is revealed truth, to hang their heads in shame. To watch his facile butt-kissing to 'The Muslim World', assalaam alykum, was to burn with shame. Barry mentioned that he was a Christian, a Reverend Jeremiah Wright Christian of course, but then waxed poetic about Islam in a way that should make anyone with any knowledge of history raise an eyebrow. His family comes from a long line of Muslims in East Africa, did they? And who were the Muslims in East Africa? They were slave traders thats who they were. Barry is proud that he comes from a long line of slave traders! It got worse. If you have any friends in Israel phone them up now and tell them how much you care about them...they might not be around much longer. He called for total Hamas control of the West Bank and Gaza; for the Israelis to accept the right of Hamas to shoot missiles across its border without response: for the right of Iran to nuclear power (so it seems our enemies can drill for oil and build nuke plants and we're stuck with a bunch of lousy windmills).

If you voted for this pumpkin-headed 'student of history', every one of whose examples of Islamic achievements were so wrong-headed as to be laughable, then you're as ignorant as he is. This radical clap-trap in the interest of sucking up to what the geniuses in Hillary's state department mistake for some monolithic ethnic interest group,'The Moslem World', but what is in fact a continental-sized, extremely diverse mass of ethnicities, shows how ignorant and misguided the Obamunists are. What is the goal of this nonsense? How does it advance our interests? Do they really think the entire world is going to turn into a larger version of the European Parliament? Isnt that a fundamental misunderstanding of human nature and history?

If his knowledge of history doesnt include any knowledge of the contribution of the Greeks to algebra, the Chinese and Gutenberg's development of printing, and all the rest of the things he got wrong in that passage about 'Muslim contributions' then you have to wonder about the quality of the rest of his thinking. This part of the speech sounded like a manifesto issued by some sophomore in Political Science at Harvard, trying to get a 'B' in his Modern Ethnic Studies class taught by a William Ayres-type dessicated sixties radical by making up phony 'achievements' for a favored ethnic group. Because of the education they received these geniuses have the most screwed-up perspective on the world that its possible to have. They're as ignorant as the Clintonista who praised the Romanian economy in her dissertation and as ignorant as the academics who awarded her a PhD for her efforts. Everything they know is wrong. And you elected them because Barry wasnt that ugly old Bush or that snarling old McLame. He promised something new but he's turned out to be a standard left-wing radical. Hugo Chavez is making jokes that him and Fidel are to the right of Comrade Obama. But its not a joke. Barry is what would have happened if Henry Wallace had been kept as Vice President in 1944. He is what would have happened if Adlai had beat Ike.

One more outrage. Women's Rights. Barry's take on this was that Pakistan, Bangla Desh, and Indonesia all had had women presidents but the US needs to struggle with women's equality! Of course, if it wasnt for him we would be cursed with a woman president, and I still thank him for that; but what did our Secretary Of State think of that passage? But the implication is that we have a lot to learn about Women's Rights from our new Muslim friends.
He made these remarks in a city where young girls routinely have their clitoris removed without anesthetic by the exacto-knife wielding local witch woman so that they wont be able to feel sexual pleasure and disgrace their families in the eyes of God. 'Honor' killings and the killings of young wives for their dowries happen all the time in Cairo. If a wife disagrees with her husband he is within his legal rights to beat her as severly as he feels she needs. He can divorce her in an instant any time he likes and keep 100% of the marital assets and the children, who are his property, if he wants them. Woman are not welcome in many public places without a male relative accompanying them. Is Obama calling this the direction we have to 'struggle' toward?

This speech was a disgrace. Its a disgrace to the people who voted this politically-correct ignoramus and his Ivy League crew of muddle-headed Stalinists into power. The people who cringed at every timid reference by Bush to Christianity are gushing with joy at 'assalaam alykum'-- a wish of Peace given only to fellow Muslims! So today we have another chapter in the national humiliation delivered to our once-proud nation by a series of liberals. They've gotten progressively worse until we have arrived at the bottom with Barry. He praises savagely brutal systems and denigrates freedom in our own country. He has put us under the thumb of the Chicoms by his reckless spending and under the thumb of OPEC by his refusal to consider a rational energy policy and now he's crawling to our enemies in the pathetic hope that they'll 'like us'. Yes. That's exactly it. Not George W who they called a stumbling retard, not Ronaldus Magnus who they called a senile old right-wing crackpot, certainly not BJ Clinton who everybody knew was lying 100% of the time, never the weedy HW, not even the mock-sincere Carter needed to read his answers off cue cards. Yes even Carter, one of the worst presidents ever, could still field questions from a pack of reporters. Think if Nixon had shown up with a teleprompter-equipped podium for the pressers he did as Watergate closed in on him. Dan Rather would have ripped one of the screens off the podium to try to club The Trickster with it. What if Obama gets in a very tight spot where the whole country is pissed off at him, will he bring his teleprompters to that press conference?

Who is this guy? There are these serious things going on all around and he doesnt even seem like a player. Its like having a male model for President. Yes, he is really, really, really good looking, I'll give you that, but do we want Zoolander at the helm of the ship of state while a Category Five hurricane is going on outside and the cargo is on fire? What kind of people voted for these idiots without noticing how completely lame they were?

There are times in the past when I've been embarrassed at my going over the top. My family and friends think that I'm a completely flipped out loonie with my weird right-wing obsessions. Sometimes I believed them. What was wrong with me? Was this the ultimate LSD flashback? Was I hallucinating catastrophe where there was none? Did I really think that all those things I said about liberals were true? They're not really going to end free markets and free speech. I mean, calm down!

Why dont the people around me notice that policies are being introduced that will have these effects? They dont notice because they see Obama, not on CSPAN or in the columns posted on RCP.com but on the Tonight Show or in the pages of People Magazine. They dont have a running political commentary in their ears that makes any sense. Things are scary and this really, really, really good looking guy says he's going to deal with it so like chill baby! Just set a few Wall Street Baddies to rights and we can all get on with our lives. National Public Radio hasnt panicked so why should we?

We live in a time when the people who waved fingers and yelled at the top of their lungs at George Bush's $400 billion deficit now are proposing a budget with a two trillion dollar deficit! Half of this is stuffed into a 'stimulus' bill that didnt have one single thing in it that would stimulate the economy in any way. That dead mackerel has been stinking up the political landscape for a few weeks now and I still have yet to read one single explanation of a cause and effect relationship between the passage of this bill and an increase in employment. But liberals arent big on Cause And Effect. They still cant show any data that there is a link between carbon dioxide emissions and global temperatures but they accept that there is because they want there to be to suit their political purposes.

Someone e-mailed me that they thought the Insane Commies were going to drop Cap And Trade or Card Check. They only will do that if some opposition develops that makes it politically impossible. But what opposition? If all enforcement of voter-fraud laws is suspended then they always have as many votes as they need. And the People Magaziners dont care. The fear that The Founders had of democracy is writ large in the actions of the modern Democratic Party. A few more of these destructive policies put in place will create 20-30% unemployment and rampant inflation. And Our Socialist Masters will be happy if carbon emissions decline. Whew! Great! We Saved The Planet! What a sense of planetary pride we'll all have living on a fifth of the income we make now.

Because that is their biggest crime. The Democrats have destroyed our currency. Our money will be worth as much as the empty lies of our leaders. Our economy will not be producing anything anyone would consider worth buying. The era where America was a dominant force in world events is over. The days of decent medical care for anyone but an elite few are drawing to a close. The age of individual automobile ownership are numbered. Your 3000 square foot house will be impossible to heat or cool. We might be lucky enough to afford to run a small refrigerator and a few forty-watt light bulbs. Bye bye the Big Screen! Think you got rid of those danged kids? In poor countries ten and fifteen people of all generations live together in one small house to pool resources.

I hope I'm crazy, but I dont think I am. All these bad ideas have been kicking around for decades. When libs would stand up and propose most of the things that are on their way to become law in the next few months audio tapes would get played on Talk Radio so we could all have a good chuckle at how loonie these left wing nuts were. One of the big rationales for 'moderate Republicanism' is that the hard-core conservatism of the neolithic base turns off minorities who are a rapidly-growing percentage of the population, dooming the party to demographic destruction. Party hacks gaze yearningly into the distance as they envision millions of 'minorities', inspired by the reasonableness of their views on giveaway programs and amnesty flocking across the aisle to vote Republican.

So these guys think they can take this wonderful sensitivity down to South-Central and unseat Maxine Waters? They're not even going to try because the people in charge of the party are afraid to go down there and they dont understand what they need to do to connect with black people and Latinos who live in those neighborhoods. There are many potential conservatives in minority neighborhoods but few potential Republicans. You dont think that there are Latinos who are pissed off about bad schools, rampant crime, high taxes and stupid anti-business government? Well you're wrong. Many of the Central and South Americans are very conservative and very middle class and are looking at Obama leading the same anti-wealth, anti-success zealots who wrecked the economy in the countries they fled to come here. Americans, never having experienced a lawless left-wing dictatorship, might be fooled by this class-warfare guff but Venezuelans have heard it before. People from the West Indies and Africa are also very conservative and they have large communities in the districts that you are targeting. Muslims are also culturally and financially conservative. But all this is academic. Geeks who have graduated from Top Universities engage in minority outreach by having seminars with other geek graduates from Top Universities who happen to be black or have a last name like Martinez. The 'solutions' always involve giving more power to the state and raising taxes. This is what the McLame Republicans think is going to lure 'minorities' to vote for them.

Its not going to happen. Some ethnic groups might become conservatives in reaction to the failure of leftist policies in their own neighborhoods but they are never going to be attracted by a party hardly distinguishable from the Democrats and which is a caricature of The Evil White Establishment. I know of a Korean businessman, a tax-hating, devoutly Christian entrepreneur, who voted for Obama because he just couldnt say yes to the moth-eaten old white guy. When you dont have any ideas appearances become the most important factors in an election. The conservatives who bring minorities to the conservative movement are going to arise from within those communities and are not likely to survive politically if they are wishy-washy moderates.

So if conservatives cant unseat Maxine Waters where can they go to make gains against the Democrats? I suggest that they target my Congressional District, California's 30th. The gerrymandered safe district for a wart-hog-like creature named Henry Waxman. Last year nobody wasted their time running against him. This district includes West Hollywood, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Westwood, Santa Monica and some similar communities on the other side of the mountains. The 30th is the most left-wing area in the country unless Nadler's district in Lower Manhattan or Pelosi's in San Francisco are taken into account. Except for Pelosi, Waxman is the single most obnoxious person in the House except possibly Barney Frank or Charles Wrangel, not forgetting Jack Murtha and David Obey...hey, OK he's in the top five or six, who's counting, the guy's a trainwreck! He conducts hearings against Evil Oil, Evil Tobacco, Evil Banks, Evil Car Executives and Evil Fast Food; if the left thinks its Evil Waxman conducts a hearing against it. He drags the executives in front of his committee and accuses them of...making a profit! He sees himself as a tribune of the people, the little guy's friend against Evil Monopolistic Oligarchs.

Thats great in Gary, Indiana, to be the friend of the burly but disenfranchised workers, but in Beverly Hills? In Beverly Hills their bonuses are cancelled, their stocks are a meltdown disaster area, and their beloved Barak is talking about who's going to pay for a trillion dollar giveaway. And Guess Who? They might be cool with getting a raise on their EITC south of Olympic in Maxine Waters' district but in the hills above Malibu's beautiful seacoast the liberals are meeting with their accountants and wondering about Hope And Change. When they see the breadth and scope of the coming Carbon Tax and realize what that is going to do to the value remaining in their battered portfolios how far to the left will they be then? A lot of the 'Old Money' that supported the left, held by the children and grandchildren of former celebrities, has disappeared. I'll bet donations to The Sierra Club and Greenpeace have fallen off a cliff.

So here's the opportunity. Target not the impoverished WalMart shoppers who are expecting manna to fall from Government Heaven but the people who are going to have to provide that manna from very reduced resources. Other issues could also be used to defeat Waxman in this district. Out of control labor unions (SAG and the WGA) are making demands and threatening strikes that could put all of the myriad administrative studio bureaucrats and behind-the-camera technical crews out of work permanently. Card-check will threaten the bottom line of every non-union studio. One of the bases of Waxman's support is the Jewish community. Not as strong as it used to be as the younger generations intermarry and drift away from strong involvement with the community but still a big factor. Did Waxman vote to reward Hamas with $900 million to make up for those Evil Israeli's unprovoked assault on the innocent rocketeers in the Gaza Strip? Yew betcha! Did he vote to support the assault on offshore tax shelters? Yup. Raising rates on upper income brackets? Ditto. Whereas Maxine Waters votes for goodies for her constituents Waxman consistently votes to strip the poor chumps in his own district of their remaining wealth.

Now, right at the moment the Wax Man seems pretty safe. Even though the Green Idiocy of Global Warming is increasingly discredited and the waffling evasions of the Gorians less and less believable the faith still holds sway in the manicured gardens of the mountain range that runs through the center of Los Angeles. When a Carbon Tax and a raised gasoline tax (Thanx Governator!) and the increasing government campaign to wipe out individual car ownership starts to bite many of these formerly wealthy types might start wilting on the vine, becoming less Green. As we abandon Israel to a new potential genocide at the hands of people even less savory than the National Socialists (at least the Nazis washed) will the Jews be so eager to support the Dems? As taxes pass 60-70% on marginal income and shelters and offshore dodges are removed will the people who going to pay more and more still be Democrats?

In a year this is going to be a very different country, reliable Democrat demographics are going to be questioning the wisdom of some of their most closely-held tenets. In one way Waxman is safe because there is almost universal support for legal abortion in the district and whatever candidate who runs against him will have to be pro-choice. Not pro dumping billions down the stem-cell rathole choice. Not making people who think abortion is murder pay for other people's abortions choice. Not forcing Catholic hospitals and doctors to perform abortions in the new Federal Health Care System choice. Not partial-birth choice--Waxman is in favor of all those things BTW. But in favor of legal abortions in the early stages of pregnancy choice. Since the courts and the California Constitution prevent any change in the laws on this subject and the issue is a total loser in the district for Republicans in these upscale districts the rationale for handing this issue on a platter to the Dems is very thin. However, the few remaining Republicans in the 30th are pretty hard-core and pro-life. Ironically enough a candidate who could seriously challenge Waxman would have a tougher time winning the nomination than whipping the Wart-Hog.

Guns are another matter. Right now the matrons of these neighborhoods think that every one of those extra Y chromosome testosterone gun-toting freaks down in the flats should have every single gun and bullet confiscated immediately. The husbands more soberly understand that the police or the private security service are a distance away up winding hillside roads and keep a discreet pistol or two within reach. As the Hugo Chavez-style class warfare heats up and the state and municipal governments wallow in unpayable pensions and debt while their tax receipts fall there will be fewer police and many more criminals, motivated by a sense of justice against the undeserving rich. When the government takes the police away will those same people, the most likely victims of crime, support harsh measures to take their guns away?

There are other issues. The point is that the Democratic party policies are going to impact the upper middle class and the professional classes disproportionately. Classes which have already lost a huge chunk of their wealth which they will never get back, Obama's high tax rates will make that certain. In districts like the one I live in the incumbents could be attacked using simple catchphrases on billboards that would direct people to a website that had brief, entertaining and very simple videos that put the argument that pro-business is better than anti-business, that the megastate is NOT your friend. Waxman and his zealous followers are easy to lampoon. Make Waxman's face the face of economic decline. If things are as bad as I think they will be then a clear, distinct conservative message will resonate. We all have to do everything we can to keep the message clear and stressing parts of that message that hit where the Democrats are the weakest. The 'moderates' might be some hindrance but the coming hyperinflation and economic decline are going to radicalize people one way or another so there will be fewer of them anyway. If conservatives have the clearest and most logical message we can win in places that have been lost to us for decades.

The odious Obamanoids, in their quest for brain-damaged Re-pyub-i-cans to give bi-partisan cover to their outrages against the Constitution, dredged up the 'dead man walking' Senator from the newly 'Blued' state of New Hampshire and offered him the cushy sinecure of Secretary Of Commerce. Now, Our First Black President (the always lovable BJ Clinton) appointed one of his many political bag-men, Ron Brown, to this laudable post. Brown's role at Commerce added up to directing revenue streams into the Clinton's many slush funds and offshore bank accounts. It seems that his self-respect and his trust for the Clintons was beginning to suffer when his incumbency was ended by a tragic plane crash in Bosnia, which no one suggests was engineered by The Clintons even though it served their purposes very nicely. Brown was replaced by the scrupulously honest (giggle, giggle) Bill Richardson. Commerce is just not a post for an honest man. In fact its a job for a mold-encrusted political hack on the make.

But if you cant find a mold-encrusted political hack on the make then pick a rural nudnick with an oddly-shaped skull named Judd. Since the Dems managed to change New Hampshire's voter registration laws to make it possible for anyone to show up on election day, swear that they intend to move to New Hampshire and register and vote that day the Republicans, who meekly allowed this travesty of the voting laws to be enacted, have become an endangered species in that underpopulated, mountainous sliver of New England.

So I guess the Dems looked at the oddly-shaped skull of this Judd and remembered that as a New Hampshire Republican he sat silently by while the voter registration laws in that state were turned into a joke and figured Judd was a bi-partisan, go-along-to-get-along kinda guy. They were probably genuinely surprised that he had objections to the President's Stalinist chief of staff reaching in to take effective control of the 2010 Census away from the Commerce Secretary so he could organize the counting under the political control of the Marxist zealots in the White House.

"So what?" you might ask. You just send the forms out and then collect them, right? Wrong. If you're a leftist nothing is ever that simple. You see, these guys have rejected the Newtonian arithmetical certainties of 'counting' American Citizens and replaced them with the truly Einsteinian concept of relative abstract formulization as you 'estimate' the number of the unfairly uncounted. In other words the leftists have determined that the Great Big Right-Wing Conspiracy has Conspired to undercount left-wing populations. Some would suggest that left-wingers are overcounting Right-Wing conspiracies.

Inventing fake voters to pad their 'majorities' in elections is long-time Democratic Party tradition. Boss Tweed, Richard Daley; the urban machines were always dominated by Democrats as were the rural precincts of the deep South and the halt, the lame, and the dead were an important part of the coalition. In a more modern mode we have seen close elections subjected to recount after recount. In each recount new votes for the Democrat are mysteriously 'found' and groups of ballots favoring the Republican candidate (such as absentee military ballots) are 'disqualified'. Al Gore, Chris Gregoire in Washington State, and the odious and unspeakable Al Franken in Minnesota all have disturbingly similar patterns pointing to a set of procedures that are triggered by close elections. The Republican's mistake is believing  that a sense of civic responsibility, decency and respect for the law lie behind the actions of their opponents.

So now the Dems want to tweak a few rotten boroughs filled with winos, schitzos and illegal aliens all casting an absentee ballot for the appropriate Demo candidate by 'estimating' how big those 'undercounted' populations. This from the same crowd who told us that there were millions of homeless and that they were formerly middle-class families driven into the cold by the heartless Reagan policies. Crowds of freezing, ragged wretches who decently disappeared when Bill Clinton was president and never seemed to reappear even in the Dark Night Of Bush. Where did these hundreds of thousands of homeless go?

They never existed. Sure there are homeless people out there. Tens of thousands of them. Millions? I guess one opinion is as good as another unless you actually count them. But thats the opposite of what is being proposed now. We are just supposed to assume that the number that the geniuses in Washington decide on is correct. So a bunch of people who have shown their contempt for the integrity of the electoral system are going to give us apolitical and non self-serving 'estimates' of populations where inflated numbers serve their political interests?

I just went to see the movie 'Frost/Nixon' and was struck by the vindictive, nasty quality of the fake outrage. If you compare Nixon to Clinton the contrast is stark. Nixon's misdemeanors appear furtive and petty compared to the brightly lit felonies of the Clintons. Its OK to lie, its OK to take bribes, its OK to use the IRS to persecute people you dont like, its OK to copy secret personnel files and then dump the information in the media when you're in trouble, its OK to trump up felony charges against innocent White House employees, its OK to hamstring police and intelligence agencies who might be concerned at the amount of money from foriegn governments you are receiving, its OK to attack foreign countries for domestic political purposes and its OK to lie under oath to a federal district judge in a sexual harassment case.

The Dems have gone along with it all. They've abandoned any concept of honor or decency. The law is a joke to them; especially the US Constitution. One of their current manias is a complete violation of the First Amendment. Government control is proposed for the internet and talk radio. The skunks who are seriously talking about this are the most loathsome group of thugs and apparatchiks who have reared their heads this side of Caracas. It shows their contempt for the law and their contempt for the rights of others. They dont want to be held to account for the results of their policies. They know how much people are going to have to suffer for their high-falutin social engineering schemes. They know they have to create rotten boroughs, stuff ballot boxes with phony absentee ballots, and stifle any criticism so they can remain in power when the standard of living starts to drop like a rock.

The Polls! The Polls! It's hopeless because of the Polls! Boo-hoo, say all the Republicans that I know, the polls are saying we're cooked! If you turn on your TV set even the 'Fair And Balanced' geniuses at Fox News are singing the same song. Obama is already meeting with his putative cabinet picks and dining on lobster and champagne at expensive hotels in the lissome company of the adoring Michelle. Out in the rest of the planet the polls are running ten to one in his favor from Lapland to Swaziland. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have announced that this election will install a 250-seat Democratic delegation in Congress and give the Dems a sixty-seat filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. This election is going to be the biggest victory for the Democratic party since Lyndon Baines Johnson stood on the fresh grave of the Sainted JFK and painted Barry Goldwater as a Right-Wing Monster From Hades!

Sure doesn't feel the same way it did in 1964. It seems like the Republicans are motivated by fear that the whole system of governance and economics that made this a wealthy country are about to be abandoned. The Democrats, what are they motivated by? Vague promises that Obama cares about The Children? His commercials are the worst I've ever seen. They don't say anything. They're the commercials of a candidate who is complacent about his coming victory and doesn't feel like he needs to explain himself to the voters--or even to attack his opponent.Its the same thing that happened after he clinched the victory against Hillary, the party started rolling before the deal was done, landing him with some embarrassing and unexpected defeats in the late primaries.

Now him and his coterie of media stooges have attacked Joe The Plumber while Palin is out there drawing gigantic crowds and calling BHO an ACORN cheater. The libs don't deign to answer those 'accusations' about massive ballot-box stuffing in the swing states. If they don't think that Americans resent a gang of Marxist criminals filing thousands of fake voter registrations then they have been at the banquet for too damned long. The backlash against this and the myriad other unanswered questions about BHO are going to haunt him on November 4th...just as Kerry's embarrassing silence in the face of the Swift Boat accusations proved them true so eloquently.

Doubt is Obama's enemy now and doubt is what the polls are showing. He's no Lyndon Johnson, breaking ahead after the convention and romping to the finish. There is no great groundswell in the nation to ensconce a socialist government with a smarmy lying radical at its head. The Joe The Plumber types have not had their questions answered at all. Instead they've seen the actual Joe The Plumber told to abandon his selfish dreams and turn his 'excess earnings' over to the state for redistribution. And so the polls continue to show Obama ahead but well within the margin of error. What I think the polls are not showing is how soft the support he has is among the working class. These are the people who are going to bolt on that last weekend.

There isn't any sign from the Obama/mainstream media campaign that the march to nationalization is anything but on track. They exude confidence in their 2-4% margins. Anyone with doubts is obviously a closet racist, just as anyone who questions Obama's radical associations or brings up votes that he managed to cast in his disengaged career as a part-time legislator is just as obviously a secret Klan member. No one has ever tried to bring up the most glaring fact about Obama's record in the Illinois and US Senate...this guy doesn't show up for work very often. No wonder he 'spurned work in the private sector'; most bosses like to see their employees show up for work and get stuff done. No one has ever accused Barak Obama of that. He was a counselor for ACORN and the Annenburg Foundation but no one has ever confronted us with anything he ever did for them besides cutting loose a few meaty earmarks once he gained elective office. He didn't lead angry mobs, he didn't fight furiously to radicalize steelworkers. I'll bet he showed up for work three days a week in time to go to lunch and then went back and made a few phone calls to guys like Rezko, scheming to get himself elected, and then home in time to catch the last half of Oprah.

So now he's goofing off a little in the face of his apparent about-to-happen landslide victory in November. But people often choke on lobster, especially the kind they serve at the Waldorf-Astoria to overly confident candidates spending their overstuffed campaign's excessive cash. Joe Plumber, Six Pack Sid, and the rest of the yokels and their unfashionably-dressed Palin-like wives have had a lot of fingers poked into their eyes by the Obama campaign, some of it inadvertent, but all of it important. There is still a lot of doubt about the Republicans out in the hinterland. The polls might be right. I don't think the American people are going to look at this massive attempt at cheating at the polls, are going to sit by while a female Vice Presidential candidate is cruelly and unfairly slimed by a biased media, are going to sit back and enjoy being sneered at as a bunch of racists by a pack of overeducated elitist snots and then are going to go to the polls and vote for these same people. You can all laugh at me on November 5th for being such a fool but I just dont believe that this level of mendacity and hubris is going to be rewarded with victory.

When he decided that the Democratic Party wouldn't dare to alienate black voters by nominating Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama stalled. Even though he was acknowledged by all to be the winner Clinton started whupping him in state after state by huge margins. All the Obama blather about the Clinton's being closet racists alienated voters. His ringing speeches didn't connect. He started to get the image of a star-struck elitist who was out of touch with the majority of Americans.

Then there was the triumphal World Tour, an event so successful that the Obama-struck media doesn't mention it at all these days. In other words, a flop that didn't produce a single usable five-second sound bite. Ditto the resounding flop of the Democratic convention. The disaster of the Greek Column Extravaganza was mercifully (for Obama) overshadowed by the entrance of Palin onto the scene. That grandiloquent moment in the Arena at Denver was another prime example of where Obama could have closed the deal and set the theme for a romp to victory. He didn't.

In the world of sales there is no higher compliment than to be described as a 'closer'. A closer gets the chumps to sign on the dotted line, he seals the deal. Some of us can be witty, charming and persuasive and will make a sale occasionally to someone who was probably going to buy our product in the first place but a closer is responsible for refrigerators being seen in igloos. Ronald Reagan was a closer. Bill Clinton was a closer. Barak Obama is not a closer.

The media doesn't see it. They believe the phony polls that have a 39% Dem sample and a 28% Rep sample. They think Joe the Plumber is some kind of Right Wing Nut. I mean, talking about socialism for God's sake! How gauche. They've gone after this impudent plumber hammer and tongs. His divorce records have appeared on the front pages of newspapers. A flurry of other media charges and attacks have been leveled at this dude. I'll bet he wishes he had a reasonable expectation of privacy like Bill Ayers. What are those idiots in the Democratic Party and their pet media stooges thinking about? When someone charges you with wanting to take away people's freedom the last thing you want to be seen to be doing is trying to destroy his life for asking the question. How many Joe the Plumbers are watching this and asking which side the Dems are really on? This is the kind of guy that expands his plumbing business by taking on a couple of guys and maybe a kid who learns the trade from the old hands. These days that counts as a $250k business. Inflation is pushing a lot of tiny micro-businesses over the $250k line. These guys are burdened with workman's comp, matching social security payments, oppressive regulations and reporting requirements and already ruinous fees and taxes. For Obama to announce that their 'wealth' needs to be spread around to people who really need it is a total insult to people like that. Right now half their income is being flushed down the government toilet and now Obama and Biden are telling them that if they expand their business their remaining proceeds will be shared amongst the truly deserving; a group which doesn't include members of their family. Its so patriotic! Blue collar America is just waiting to have their taxes raised in the name of fairness.

Now Obama's poll numbers, which briefly rose in response to the chaos in the markets and the scary economic times, are sliding again as people notice that his response to this insecurity and chaos was incoherent and involves raising taxes on these already near-bankrupt businesses. He has not made a persuasive case for any kind of a remedy for this or any other problem that faces us. Energy crisis? Don't drill for oil, inflate your tires. Banking crisis? Print money. Medicare going bankrupt? Expand the program to cover everybody. Problems solved.

At some point the attacks on Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin, who is drawing 60-70,000 person crowds in swing states, as being yokels who are motivated by racism are going to define Obama as the front man for the political class, which is what he is. Now, Bill Clinton was that and so (to my deep sorrow) was W Bushy but neither of them were as extreme as Obama. The Old Pols were willing to take some eggs from the Golden Goose but they understood the folly involved in killing the critter to get to the goodies faster. Not so Obama. Now with their poll numbers supposedly showing a rout they are waving recipes for roast goose and inviting everyone to dinner. Will the Joe the Plumbers vote for this idiot? Do these people reward candidates who call them racists for wanting to keep a little portion of their paycheck? I don't think so. Obama has given regular working people a strong reason to vote against him and no reason to vote for him except that they're mad at Bush. If he was Bill Clinton that would be enough, as it was in 1992. Clinton was a closer. Unlike Obama.

Wahovia trembles. Overseas banks collapse. Economic panic and chaos in Russia. Hyper inflation and disruption in India. Even China starts to be dragged down by the current global attack of financial insanity. The US Congress at first stepped up to the plate and added enough provisions to the Paulsen Plan to convert our economy to a socialist state like Zimbabwe at a cost that would either mandate outright confiscation of all income or a complete devaluation of the currency. Or both.

Why are people dumb enough to vote for Democrats? It used to be that the Mainstream Media controlled the flow of information and only geniuses like Reagan, who had the knack of talking past them; hardened obfuscators like Eisenhower who had the knack of cloaking his real intentions in several layers of seemingly incoherent nonsense and out-and-out tricksters like Tricky Dick could get through the liberal blather and get themselves elected and make a difference in the direction that things were going in. But now you can go on the internet or listen to talk radio. There are a dozen great magazines you could subscribe to. Anyone who still believes that this problem was caused by a lack of government intervention in the markets is a thick-headed, ignorant retard.

Unfortunately it seems that thick-headed, ignorant retards seem to abound in the halls of Congress and under the harsh fluorescent lights of America's newsrooms. Even so this is a political time-bomb under the feet of the GUILTY Democrats. That was the party that campaigned on 'Culture Of Corruption' two years ago; roping in enough borderline retards, granola-eaters, welfare chiselers, illegal aliens, felons, self-serving employees of the massive and growing cancer of government and absentee ballots from pets and mental patients to build a coalition of greedy parasites, utopians and mendacious power-trippers numerous enough to allow the Democrats gain control of the Congress from the feeble Bush-destroyed former conservative party.

The Dems fingerprints are all over this mess. The plan that the toothless Bush was ready to sign was a recipe for Depression; worse even than doing nothing. You can recover from a crash; overregulation and high taxes are terminal. But the Dems, aware of how culpable they are, refused to pass this mess into law without Bi-Partisan Unity. That means they want Republicans to blame if this doesn't work; its already universally described in the media as 'the Bush Bailout Plan'.

That's when the Hero, John Boehner, stepped up and halted the entire process. At the fatal meeting in the Cabinet Room Thursday, where BH Obama and his aggression, spawned by his total and complete ignorance of what was going on, caused a food fight which alarmed even the comatose Bush and during which the Wrinkly Old White Dude sat silent, Boehner dug in his heels and refused to turn America's mortgage markets over to the tender mercies of ACORN. Under that bill a crowd of slimy attorneys and cockroach-like 'community organizers' would gain control of your mortgage and apply the 'Law Of Fairness' to the horrible injustice that lets some people live in nice houses while others live in slums. Yuppies who figured on retiring on the equity of their house would have found themselves living in the hybrid mini-van one step ahead of the repo man while their four thousand-square foot McMansion is torn apart and destroyed by a riotous crowd of 'the deserving poor'.

There would be a kind of justice in that as mini-van driving Yuppies are the thick-headed, ignorant retards who generally vote for democrats in the fervent hope that they'll fix the weather. The Dems cant fix the weather, which is showing suspicious signs of not being broken in the first place, and they can't fix this financial crisis either.

Even stripped of the errant idiocy proposed by the Democrats the Paulsen Plan might not work. The damage is too widespread. This is the kind of thing that just gathers momentum. All the decades of patches and ad hoc solutions are coming back to bite us. The giant, empty, real estate bubble is bursting and is ready to take everything down with it. The days of a funky three-bedroom house in a suburban neighborhood in Los Angeles selling for $800,000 are over. Jim Cramer says the market is headed for 8300. That will certainly change a few life-styles!

The Dems hope they can hang this whole deal on McCain and Bush. Bush is in a cocoon, he matters less and less. McCain is a different story. He has only one way out of this, politically. He has to tell the truth about the Democrats. That's something he manifestly did not do during the debate. Thats something he hasn't ever done but he better make up his mind to be a Republican or lose the election. somebady is going to get nailed for this; shouldn't it be the people who were actually responsible-- Clinton, Frank, Dodd and the rest of the Socialist low-lifes who engineered this disaster in the name of compassion.

The Dems are calling for 'depression-era measures' to get control of the financial crisis that was caused by the government's intervention, supposedly on behalf of their poverty-stricken helots in the red-lined slums across the tracks. The Clinton Administration put policies in place which ended the need for any kind of qualifications to get a mortgage and then staffed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with loyal advocates of opening up the mortgage world to the poor. Of course they didn't just open the process up to the poor; they created a way to leverage a very small amount of money into a huge paper equity in real estate. The easy money flowing into the real estate market artificially pumped up prices but who cared? You could get a five-year super low fixed rate that adjusted to an ARM at the end of the five years, which means you just needed to refinance to another loan at the end of the five years using the paper equity that will have accumulated in the meantime to get a better loan deal. Flippers could buy a house financed with the low teaser rate and rent it to cover the payments. The payments were all interest, completely tax deductible, and any expenses and depreciation could be used to create a situation where the house could actually be generating an on-the-books loss that could be used to lower your tax liability on other income. Everybody wins!

In 2003 and 2005 the Bush Administration and some Republicans in the Senate tried to impose some reforms and restrictions on a process that was running amok but were vehemently opposed by the Democrats; specifically Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. Both of these Champions Of The Poor were later found to be taking huge cash donations from their cronies who were running Fannie and Freddie. Dodd took a couple million bucks worth of VERY questionable 'loans' from the teetering Countrywide mortgage firm. Every major Democrat, including Barak The Wonderful, was found to be receiving huge 'campaign contributions' from these two Public-Private corporations. Left-Wing advocacy groups like ACORN and Jesse Jackson's Operation Push received millions from Fan-Fred. Other egregious interventions in the financial system took place. The nauseating and oleaginous Senior Senator from New York, a state with two dishonest and villainous Senators who put even benighted states like Michigan, California and Vermont to shame for the low character of their Senators, was involved in a panic which destroyed the IndyMac Bank. All the employees lost their stock-options and had their pensions wiped out (ala Enron) because Chucky-schmucky and his crooked friends had their hands in the till.

Fortunately this sleazy band of crooks had two things going for them. The first was the 'news' media. The coverage of this has been dishonest in the extreme. The story line ignores the Democrat's involvement and concentrates on the banks and vilifies deregulation and private enterprise. It doesn't report the key action, the demand of the Clinton Administration that The Poor be given access to the mortgage market, and keeps the connections of all of these sleazy crooks to the Democrats and the Clinton Administration under wraps. The second was the feeble weakness of the Bush Administration. If the president went on TV and TOLD THE TRUTH about the partisan nature of this disaster the Dems would be in very hot political water. But the spineless Bush is having the blame hung on his hapless neck because its just not in his nature to get in a bloody political brawl with Democrats. Ditto the alleged Republican 'maverick' who I'm told is our Presidential nominee this year. You know, the guy who's running around blaming the banks and Wall Street...

But in the end, who is responsible for this disaster? Who's the poster boy for the collapse and then nationalization of our financial industry. The envelope please....the winner... drumroll... Bill Clinton! Yes, this is another example of why I call him the worst President in US history. He was the first president to openly receive bribes from an enemy nation in return for embargoed technology. He was the first President to be videotaped lying under oath to a Federal Judge. His attempt to keep the FBI and CIA from comparing notes on his Chicom bribes created a 'firewall' that hamstrung intelligence and allowed the terrorist who Clinton had refused to take custody of to launch an attack on our country that cost three thousand lives and billions of dollars. Jamie Gorelick, who effectively ran the Justice Department and created the firewall and later steered the 9/11 Cover-up Commission away from assigning any blame to the Clintonistas then went on to be a mover in Fran-Fred; walking away with a cool 40 mil. Johnson and Raines, the authors of the phony bookkeeping that brought on this crisis and who each walked away with tens of millions were top players in the Clinton Administration and now are leading economic advisers to Obama.

So now the Democrats are standing in the way of the Bush Administration's attempt to prop up the now-compromised financial system by turning on the currency printing presses. Their big demand is Depression Era Measures, administered by them, that will finally place the entire industry in the hands of the government. The same measures which turned a sharp recession in 1929 into a decade-long Depression are being proposed. This is what these Dems have in mind for health care. Pass 'reforms' to help 'the poor' that bring the private system crashing down and then the noble government steps in with the fix; lots of taxpayer cash. As bad as the Bush fix is it is nothing compared to what will happen if the Dems get their way. We are in for a wave of hyper inflation that will amaze everyone. If the Republicans don't manage to find the courage to resist this Big Lie that's what will happen. Private property and a sound currency, the bedrock of freedom, will have been socialized by a claque of greedy, dishonest and incompetent thugs who will lead this country into poverty.

When you load a new computer program on to your hard drive and then open it up it opens to what are called default settings. As you get to know the program and work with it you adjust the settings so that each time you open it it opens to your preferences. Politics works the same way. We are in a media culture where we absorb a certain amount of politics just from the ambient social noise around us. Some people then go on to read and discuss and observe and form thought out positions on various issues that fit into a political philosophy. But most people don't think much about politics. They don't see any relationship between the complicated frustrating mess that they occasionally notice when a scandal or disaster leaks into the soundbite-newsbreaks that local TV stations use to tease the eleven o'clock news. That most people dont get the connection between politics and their lives is shown by the low turnouts in local elections. These are elections where your vote really matters and who wins will have an important affect on your life. Municipal elections are the lowest turnout elections. Most of them are dominated by the public employees unions, who account for a large percentage of the votes.
But there is a great mass of people who are fairly fuzzy about the details of the political struggle who absorb their opinions by osmosis from the culture. They've gone to schools where the curriculum is skewed to the left and all those forgotten lessons are still up in that mental attic somewhere. But that programming is very thin and not based on any coherent philosophy that they believe in. A kind of mild, unthinking liberalism has become the default setting in their political psyches.
Abortion is a big part of that default setting. People now see sex between unmarried adults as equally valid and moral as that between people who are married. They don't see why a women who becomes pregnant by some mischance should end her career and live in miserable poverty, raising the baby of some creep who got her drunk one night, because some Bible-bangers have some high-falutin moral objections; especially when those objections are a mere cloak for a holier-than-thou morality that demands that everyone change their behavior to conform to it. Christianity is seen by these people as an attempt to bully and interfere in other people's lives. The political reality, that abortion was legalized by the courts and is not currently an issue in the political process, doesn't compute with this group. 'If abortion is not legal women are not equal' is very meaningful to them. The Dems have used this basic perception to garner votes for forty years.
Environmental idiocy has been pumped into people's heads for decades. Now even commercials on TV speak reverently about Global Warming. If you don't have any other knowledge of the subject the certainty which which its addressed in pop culture is very convincing. Nobody wants to raise the sea level and drown polar bears, do they? If you think that electricity comes from a plug and gasoline from a pump without being aware of the giant infrastructure behind it then Boone Pickens standing next to a windmill seems to make perfect sense. Just switch to windmills, problem solved!

Obama has unleashed doubt in their squalid self-centered little souls. No amount of vague liberalism in long-forgotten social studies classes can cancel out Rev Wright screaming "God Damn AmeriKKKa!" as the towers lay in still-smoking ruins. It was a window into a whole black racism against white people and this country that whites feel is unjustified after 40 years of affirmative action and belligerent black and liberal bullying and finger pointing. Obama has become the poster boy for that black racism that demands special treatment and reviles anyone who objects as a KKK racist. Linking Obama with his fellow 'community organizer' Al Sharpton by the Republicans at the convention probably dealt his candidacy a fatal blow.
These Default Dems like polar bears and penguins as much as the next guy, but they love driving their cars more! No amount of propellers and solar panels are going to replace the internal combustion engine in their lives and they know it. They also know that its pretty obvious the Democrats don't want to drill for oil.
Even with the 24/7 vilification of W the storyline that all of our problems are due to his conservative policies is starting to wear thin. The Dems have been in charge of Congress. In my state, California, where the Default Dems are by far the largest voting block people are starting to wonder why, with all these Democrats who dominate every level of government, services are being cut and taxes are going up.
Bush Lied on Iraq, didn't he? Then how come we won? The Democrats were very obviously wrong about Iraq. The US forces fought a long, tough war but they conducted themselves like superb professionals and after five years they whipped them towelhead savages. Unlike liberals Default Democrats don't see America as a brutal neo-colonial aggressor. They remember the fall of the Twin Towers and the constant sniping by the Dems leaves a bad taste. This is another bad problem for Obama. He was able to outpreach Clinton on this issue and the activists rewarded him for his flagrant treason, which they heartily endorsed, but the Defaulters voted 100% Clinton. Obama now trying to take credit for America's victory only increases the anxiety.
Default Democrats find Sarah Palin vaguely disturbing. Snowmobiles, dead mooses, whacko religious views; all presented in lurid excess by the media. This was the first real election event to penetrate the consciousness of people who dont follow politics. A lurid excess of liberal disdain for anyone so boorishly proletarian that backfired Big Time amongst the proletarian Defaults. The sneering mockery was aimed at a woman who on closer scrutiny was living a typical middle class life until a couple of years ago, a life that any working class person could identify with. A big, messy family with the oldest kid going to Iraq and his younger sister knocked up by some local goon at a tender age. The old man worked as a roughneck on an oil rig while Mom parlayed her PTA connections to get a seat on the city council. The condescending snobbery against Palin wiped out any misgivings people might have had about her views and set up an us-against-them situation between regular people and snobbish overeducated elites.
Default democrats will stray from the reservation. They move in a herd and can stampede in any direction. Left undisturbed they will elect Grey Davis Governor of California; spooked they will toss him out on his ear, in an election that the polls said Davis would win. Default Dems have passed Ballot Measures to limit property taxes, deny government benefits to illegal aliens, end affirmative action and are about to pass a state constitutional amendment banning Gay Marriage. These are the same people who have passed equally radically left-wing measures. Abortion was legalized in a constitutional amendment, all kinds of environmental nonsense has been enacted and funded by ballot initiatives, the Defaults flocked to the polls to devote three billion dollars to embryonic stem-cell research. As far back as 1984 Ronald Reagan and far-left senator Alan Cranston both won this state by a million votes...tthat means a million people voted for them BOTH.
This is only my gut feeling but the smoke from several approaching brushfires is visible on the horizon, the faint smell of burning grass is in the air. The herd is spooked and ready to stampede. I think they run Right. Big win for McCain.

I obsessively click on the RealClearPolitics.com electoral map every day looking for states shifting one way or another. The movement is glacial but there has been movement. The 'solid' states, states where there is a ten-point or more margin are either bright red (for McCain) or brilliant blue (for Obama). I always resented that red-blue thing. The Dems would naturally be red in my mind, to match their political philosophy. The whole red-blue nomenclature came out of the 2000 election and I always thought that the media consciously labeled the Republicans red just to deflect any connotations of socialism from their beloved Democrats.
RCP labels any state that has a less than ten-point margin, but still outside the margin-of-error as 'leaning' and uses a paler shade of blue or red to denote these states. Any states that are polling inside the margin-of-error are depicted in gray. You can click on any state to get the list of polls which are averaged to arrive at the number that determines the state's color.
There's a major weakness in RCP's mapping, though. Some of the polls that are averaged into the count were taken in the middle of August, especially in states like California or New York where the smart guys are so convinced of the outcome that there are no real polls being conducted.
But of the states where the polls are recent and done within the last few days the map shows a clear trend; the blue is washing out and becoming lighter and the red is expanding and becoming brighter. Texas, usually a slam-dunk Republican state was light red in August and has now regained its dark red hue. North Carolina has gone from gray to bright red in the last few weeks. Montana had been in the toss-up column during the pre-Palin doldrums and is now light red. Indiana has moved from light blue to light red. Ohio has moved from light blue to gray. Florida has moved from gray to light red. Missouri from gray to light red.
But the most startling shifts are in the reliably blue states. Oregon and Washington have paled to light blue. Minnesota, cursed with a Democratic senate candidate who makes Al Sharpton look like a reasonable moderate, has moved from bright blue to gray. Michigan, the Democratic disaster area undergoing an economic meltdown engineered by its Democratic governor, legislature, congressional delegation, and Senators and further propelled by the suicidal UAW has lost its blue tinge and is now gray. Virginia, a hopeful pickup in the eyes of the Obamanoids has gone from pale blue to gray, Florida from gray to pale pink. Pennsylvania has lost its blue tint and is now lingering in gray land. The most startling of all, Blue Jersey has gone pale blue.
Since the Republican convention NO state has gone from red to gray or red to blue. The trend has been all one way. Its becoming increasingly difficult to look at the map and put together a winning scenario for Obama. But think back six or seven weeks. The map looked a whole lot different. Then it was difficult to put together a reasonable scenario that elected McCain.
Maps can mislead you. Part of whats wrong with politics today is the obsession with local details and key voter groups in swing states and the inability to think that big ideas don't matter in elections. But both Obama's rise and the Palin phenomenon are exactly a result of their ideas and they both moved numbers in areas that previously were considered untouchable. This is no longer an election taking place in the swing states, this is the first national election since 1994, when Newt took congress away from the Democrats. The entire country wants to drill for oil. The entire country doesn't want their taxes to go up. The entire country heard the questions that Giuliani and Palin raised about who exactly Barak Obama was and how unqualified he was for the job of president and is now reacting to his pathetic response. The reply was to equate 'community organizer' with Jesus or Abraham Lincoln, a tack that was so offensive and phony that it highlighted the fact that they aren't able to talk about what he did as a 'community organizer'. So by default people have inserted the image of Al Sharpton and drawn their own conclusions. There is no legislative record. As they've plowed through Governor Palin's life we've gotten twenty times more information on what she did than we ever got about Obama.
I dont believe RCP's map. I think that the campaigns know better. We're starting to see McCain commercials on cable in California. I would love to see an unbiased recent poll in California. Adding in 'The Bradley Factor', the rule that black candidates poll higher than they run, which is stronger in California than anywhere else, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Obama is even shaky in California. If he can be polling within the margin of error in Oregon and Washington than there is something that people everywhere are rejecting about Obama and the rot is spreading. There is a gravity that is pulling the entire Democratic ticket down with it.
This is a shock. All this year as we looked at the ghastly McCain hijack the Republican nomination and go out of his way to insult conservatives and we saw this charismatic young guy whip the previously undefeated Clinton Crime Family my feelings were of despair. I was so disgusted with the Republican Party that I was ready to vote for a loony like Bob Barr just to send a message to the weasels who it had seemed had destroyed the party that they couldn't count on my vote automatically. It wouldn't have mattered anyhow because Obama was 25 points ahead of McCain in California. At that point the LA Times was publishing a poll every couple of days, proudly showing their beloved Obama trouncing McCain. Those polls have disappeared. The LA Times is notorious for oversampling Democrats and is spectacularly wrong ALWAYS but their lack of polls is more telling than anything else. This will not be a close election. The only way Obama can get out of this hole is not by moving a few key groups in some strategic swing states but by a KO in the fifteenth round. He's not going to win on points.

They're blind. The libs just can't see it. They think its Palin but they are so wrong! Their decline started in Berlin, continued through their convention and then ran into the Palin shoals. Before he O-bombed in Berlin Barak The Wonderful spent a couple of months not getting why Hillary Clinton did so well after he had clinched the nomination. It wasn't some big surge of feminism or Hillary's not-so-blinding oratory that gave her forty-point victories in places like Kentucky and West Virginia; it was Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity playing The Lovely Reverend Wright every day on the radio. It was the mainstream news media obviously in the tank for Obama and not letting any of the many unanswered questions about the 'community organizer's' past be addressed. When people think community organizer they dont think Abraham Lincoln and they dont think Jesus, they think Al Sharpton. The mainstream press doesn't have anything against Al Sharpton but the mainstream voters hate Al Sharpton. The Obamanoids have not been called upon to distance himself from a radical black community that Obama was certainly a part of and now won't talk about. The biggest damage Palin has done to Obama is by going through an embarrassing and offensive level of scrutiny about everything she's ever done in her life, let alone her political career. The press has accused her of lying about being the mother of one of her kids, banning books in public libraries, firing state employees for private reasons and talking in tongues at primitive religious services. Meanwhile, we dont know anything about what Barak Obama has ever done. They don't talk about Columbia or Harvard, the 'community organizer' phase is just likened to Abraham Lincoln and Jesus and left at that, his record during his time in the Illinois State Senate seems to have disappeared except for his 175 'present' votes and one enthusiastic 'Yes' vote to teach Kindergarten kids that homosexuality is OK. Barak's record in the US Senate is similarly missing in action. And well it should be. In the ongoing national disaster generated by congressional bungling and corruption in regards to the quasi-governmental Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae the four biggest recipients of cash from the crooks who ran those two floundering institutions were Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama. What do these four names have in common? Three things. One; they were all candidates for president; two, they are all leaders of The Party That Cares, three; the press has refused to cover their involvement in a scandal that has the potential to cost trillions and bring the entire financial system crashing down. Thats not news. Sarah Palin being a high school cheerleader--Thats News!
So now, after the nauseating Charles Gibson's condescending try to belittle Gov. Palin on national TV, the Obamanoids have dialed down the attacks on Palin but have launched an add saying that McCain is out of touch because he cant use a computer. McCain can't type at all because his arms were broken-- once because he refused to shake Jane Fonda's hand when she was in North Vietnam helping her communist friends to enslave that unhappy nation.
They can attack McCain all they like but on September 11 Rush Limbaugh led off the commemoration by playing the sermon that Rev Wright gave where he screamed, "God Damn AmeriKKKa!" and explained that the attacks were "AmeriKKKa's chickensssssss coming home to roosssssssssst!" The specter of Wright and 'community organizers' like Sharpton and Jackson hangs over Obama's campaign. The threat of the Democrats laying huge tax increases onto a weak economy hangs over Obama's campaign. The public wants aggressive steps taken to find and produce energy, and especially petroleum, and Obama and the Democratic Congress' refusal to consider lifting the drilling ban is a giant sword of Damocles hanging over Barak and the entire party. If gasoline prices go up as a result of Hurricane Ike this issue will explode again in the faces of the eco-left. Obama's inability to address these three issues are making him increasingly unelectable. The polls have swung slightly in favor of the Repubs but there is reason to suspect that the polls are not showing a correct picture of what's going on. The Dems are not acting like this is a two or three point race. I think their numbers are showing states like Florida, Missouri, Indiana, Virginia and even Ohio slipping out of their grasp. I think the inside-the-campaign polls are showing states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Iowa, Oregon (!) and New Jersey (!!) increasingly threatened by McCain. The last poll taken in California was before the two conventions and even then showed slippage for Obama. I think that if Obama was doing well here there would be a poll every two days on the front page of the LA Times. The reason that there isn't is the total lack of enthusiasm by Latinos for a black 'community organizer' in the mode of Jesse Jackson. Latinos are moving into the formerly all-black neighborhoods of Watts and Compton and have not been treated well by their black neighbors. I think Obama is becoming beatable in California. If he has to start worrying about California then it is all over. But what reason has Obama given Latinos, or for that matter anybody, in California or anywhere else to vote for him? None.
